We have made our own invitiations on word and bought the card and ribbon from Ebay which has saved us £30, it took a little bit of time but they are perfect! The same with our table plan and name places!
I also have bought plain baskets from a charity shop and intertwined ivory satin ribbon in them and put a few sequins on them for the flower girls. Ive also used my younger sisters old bridesmaid dresses from a previous wedding to make my flower girl dresses, they have a few little sparkles on them, gold ribbon on them and I have added a little lace on the bottom for a vintage look! Our wedding favours are little silk bags that I have made with a ribbon drawstring and we have just put 2 chocolates from a celebration and quality street tin in as nobody in my family has ever done the whole sugared almond thing and were not about to break that tradition!!

MrsDrink - how do you make those paper hearts? They're beautiful!

Cut strips of card/good quality paper in the following dimensions:
    black: 1 x 17cm long 2.5cm wide,
    White: 2 x 19.5cm long 2.5cm wide, & 2 x 25cm long 2.5cm wide
    Red: 2 x 22cm long 2.5cm wide, & 2 x 29cm long 2.5cm wide

Then lay them on top of each other so you have two piles of alternate white, red, white, red strips. Then place these piles either side of the black so they are about half way down the black strip, and staple. Then bend the two halfs over so the bottoms all meet at the bottom of the black strip. And staple. It is easier to explain with photos:

To make 44 paper hearts I needed:
    4 A4 sheets of black
    19 A4 sheets of white
    22 A4 sheets of red

To buy them from somewhere like etsy who do them from 'vintage' shakespear books etc would have cost a fortune for that number of hearts! Plus this way you can choose the same colour paper/card as your wedding colours! (I used the same card as I used for the invites - and with left over bits from the invites I actually ended up with 56 of them :)

    Anyway photos:

Aww thank you! Yes it is mine, and it's my actual one - I did have a few attempts at arranging the flowers to create the pattern - but I must admit I did steal the idea off a website lol :) (I'm not having any bridesmaids). I did consider not having a bouquet. But I have decided to have one, specifically made out of fake flowers, so afterwards (after the honeymoon because of timing) I can take it to lay on my Grandma's grave. :) She will be a part of the day anyway - but this will be a nice touch that will most definitely make me and my Granddad cry for sure!!

By all means pinch away (at ideas from my invites). :) Lol I don't mind you lot stealing ideas lol - if I did I wouldn't share them. It's people I know in real life that I'd be bridezilla over lol.

And yea I love our anniversary cards - and it made me well up when I was putting them all in together. There is space for two more cards - the two we'll give each other on our wedding day :) (It is going to be hung up on the wall above the drinks table at our 'reception' which is a few days after the actual ceremony).

I am very inspired by all the beautiful things everyone is making! Mrs Drink, I have to ask (although the answer will probably make me want to cry with how disorganised I am!) when are you getting married? My wedding is in 3 months and 8 days and I want to make all of things you have made so far plus some! And so far the only things I have actually made are the invites (when I have taken some pics I will try and upload them!). I am very proud of them but I also want to make:

    Table decs
    Reception Decorations
    Bouquets
    Buttonholes
    Table Plan
Favours (partly - I am super excited about my favour idea but it's a secret lol)
Bridal party favours (I have dreams of making jewellery/toiletries for my bridesmaids!)
    Guestbook / (potentially) photobooth
and a lot more ideas of 'stuff' which I probably don't strictly don't need!

I have a horrible feeling I am going to run out of time! I must stop procrastinating! :rotfl:
:) Trying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often! :p

:) Not till July. But I made most of these pretty much as soon as we started planning the wedding. :rotfl: I'm known on the July thread as being slightly organised lol.

I must also add - I'm not having a formal sit down with tables - there'll just be some chairs for those that want to sit down. The reception is at our home. I'm going to be tying burgundy gerberas to the side of the chairs to give them some decoration. :)

I can't think of anything else I could make that would fit into our plans.

I wanna start making things but I'm not sure how I will store it all or where I will put it in order to save it in good condition for another year.
Mrs Drink where do you put yours? Sorry for the slightly odd question :p. I know my h2b will hate it if it is just left on the living room table for the next year. I might have to invest in some large storage boxes possibly......

Where's the best place to look online for ideas of things to make? I'd never even heard of brooch bouquets! I'd like to make my stationary, bouquets, table decs, guest book, favours. We're having a separate kids buffet so thought about making something cool for them to put food in, and some activity for them to do at the table. I've got 15 kids coming in a small room!!!

I keep all my wedding stuff in my office - lol school work is getting pushed aside :rotfl:
My ideas came from googling weddings in the google image search. Or browsing etsy for hours on end and thinking "I could make that!".

Oh another thing I have 'made' came from an idea off etsy. On etsy you can get engraved vintage spoons with Mr or Mrs on. But the vintage look wouldn't go with our general decor (we're having our reception at our house). So instead I bought a spoon (for MrD) and a dessert fork (for me) from the same range as the rest of our cutlery, took them to my local jewellers (where I got my ring from and who do an engraving service), and got "mr" and "mrs" engraved on them:

The plan is on every anniversary we get them out and share some cheesecake! :D I cannot wait to start that tradition lol.

That's such a fantastic idea! I wish we could do that, but the cutlery belongs to the venue, and I don't think they would allow us to! :p
