Hey I am aiming to get married end of 2012/beginning 2013 (when I book a venue) and am finding the thought of all the beautiful wedding crafts I can make quite exciting to:
a) personalise the wedding
b) save some money.
So I thought it might be an idea to start a thread to describe or show pictures of the things we have made or are thinking of making. This way we can share ideas that might not have been thought of otherwise. I had a quick search and couldn't find a thread like it but if something does exist feel free to merge it.
One think I want to make is a brooch bouquet. I'm not sure whether I can provide a link to the tutorial site but if you do an internet search for 'brooch bouquet' some pictures come up.
So what things have you made/are making? I look forward to hearing from you.

            Pretty much everything lol.
 My bouquet:
 Our stationery:
Our buttonholes (have done one more white one, and one red one for MrD):
Will be doing cloud 9 balloons for the corners of the downstairs rooms (this was a mock up - the final ones will be ivory and burgundy colours) (We're having our reception at our house):
Will be finishing off paper hearts to hang all around our garden:
Tealight holders (they spell out our names - one letter per jar - these are big enough to fit in three tealights):
 Our wedding cake (individual cheesecakes):
A large photo frame containing all our anniversary cards (celebrating the day we met) from the last 13 years:
We're also doing our own buffet. I have already wrapped cutlery in a white napkin and used burgundy ribbon to make a napkin ring. These will be put next to the buffet 'table'. All that is left for me to physically make are some flag labels for the buffet using the same format as our stationery. 0 0

            4 brooch bouquets (almost done)
1000 origami paper cranes (85% done)
 Invites (just need to write)
 Veil
 And perhaps jewellery0

I was going to make my own stationary (invites, RSVP cards etc) but have ordered them from vista print instead. They are my own design so I guess technically I did have some part in their making. I'm making my own place name cards, my favours will be mini love hearts which I will put personalised labels on (from eBay). I can't think of anything else at the moment. I'm just waiting for ally vista print stuff to be delivered so once it comes I'll post a picture, and I'll post a pic of the place cards too once I've got everything to make them.0

Mrs Drink you have been a busy bee. I really like your stationary and your bouquet and your paper hearts and tea lights are a really cool idea.
Clairus I would really love to see your brooch bouquets because this is something I really want to do (once I have collected all of my brooches that is). How many brooches did you need for each one?
Lisajane8482 cant wait to see your vista print stuff.0

 Ditto!
 I am making:
 my dress
my veil (which I finally decided I wanted yesterday!!)
customising my necklace (long string of pearls to which I will attach a brooch for an asymmetric look)
all stationary - just started to design the invites
 growing and arranging my flowers
my cake, with help from mum & mil2b
all venue decorations - fortunately we won't need much!
Also will be doing my own hair and make up.
A lot to do, but I have a timetable!
Vickyvics, here's something that might help with your brooch bouquet: http://offbeatbride.com/2010/06/diy-brooch-bouquet

Hope this works...here is a very bad photo of my brooch bouquet. Only me in the house tonight so can't hold it and photo it!

I have just counted up the brooches on it so far, and I think I have used 45 so far, with some gaps left (it is a similar size to a side plate). I have used about 25-30 per smaller bouquet (same size as a saucer). I still need to wrap the stems and fill the gaps with smaller brooches.
I already had a lot of brooches to start with, but the best way I found to get large numbers of brooches for the lowest cost was to do an eBay searched for "brooch lots".0

I'm not sure how to do the quote boxy thing but so you will have to bare with me.
White_Sapphire - I am really impressed that you are making you own dress and veil :T. I'm not sure I would know where to start with making my own.
Clairus - Your bouquet looks lovely. I really love the way they turn out. I cannot wait to have all of my brooches collected and see how it turns out.0

Quote boxy thing instructions: click on the blue "quote" box under the post you want to quote. This will take you straight to the reply, with the quote already inputted, which you can edit/delete bits of/write inside if you want. Or, you can do multiquote, which is the pink & orange box next to the quote box. You can click up to three posts, and can then click on Reply as normal when you've finished reading the thread.

Thanks! I'm getting a lot of help from my mum, who's a very good amateur seamstress.

Clairus, that bouquet is amazing! I'm not sure I'd have the patience to do that!

            Crikey MrsDrink that's amazing!
I'm making my invitations, table centrepieces, table runners and possibly the buttonholes.
I'm also having a photo collage of pictures of our parents' and grandparents' weddings which I'm putting together, and I guess we're "making" our guestbook as we're going to ask people to write messages on blank pieces of paper and then design them into a teatowel. My sister is drawing a picture of OH & I to go in the middle and we'll arrange the messages around it in Photoshop and then get it printed. Seemed like a good way of filtering out the more drunken/inappropriate messages that our friends will no doubt add later in the day!0

Brilliant Roz, you will have your very own 'Charles and Diana' tea towel, love it!
I ordered my invites on Vista print and everyone has loved them - does that count?!
Seriously though I will be doing all my own fresh (AGGH) flowers and there is a good possibility I will end up making my own cake too! I am doing my own make up too.
For the kids tables I am doing their little party 'buckets' with their names on and I am making a tree with lights to make a focal piece in the room.
However, I think that is it for making things - I think us brides have enough to worry about without adding to it! We have a lot of personal touches, but luckily for me we went with a Hollywood glamour theme which dictates a paired back approach. Hoorah!
