Re my post # 12. The original post at around mid-day had the correct figures based on the posted 17% blanket reduction.
Some time later I heard someone on the radio say there were different reductions for gas and electricity, stating that the gas reduction was a stingy 11%, and then going on to criticise BG as they were actually buying it at 50% less.
This made me think that I had posted incorrect figures when in fact I had not. So I mistakenly added an EDIT to " correct" my original figures whilst leaving the original ones posted.
People's replies were based mostly on the un=edited post, as the incorrect 11% edit was added around 5pm.

    Now even more confused.

You seem so anxious to 'knock' BG and not the slightest bit embarrassed that you have posted totally incorrect information in more than one thread.

Obviously you don’t like BG. So why not start again and tell us all, in a calm rational manner, exactly why you feel BG reducing their gas prices by 17%(Seventeen percent) is so terrible.
  • will the others follow??? some yes eventually ! scottish power? doubt it they are holding their prices down artificially to keep their share price up! longer term the smart money is on BG going down again in the autumn ! its a no brainer get on BG and stick ! they have invested in infastructure not cricket or football BG customers will now reap the rewards , totally revamped customer service will help with other issues, click energy 2 is now up and running and is the best way fwd with big discounts for a little effort .

Ebico is 2.43p before Vat. One tariff only

BG prices are quoted before Vat , I paid 4.959p for first 1127kw, and 2.801p thereafter. and with this will vary as BG go down the "mobile phone" multi tariff route to confuse.

The 17% will bring the latter down to 2.4p + the £24ish quarterly "standing charge" ( first units loading) So Ebico still cheaper for moi.

What was wrong with that, please?

I never saw your original post at mid-day, and Cardew replied to the thread after me, so what makes you think Cardew saw your original post at mid-day?

I like the way they wait until the winter is over before putting the prices down!! Wholesale prices went down ages ago.

They also bought their gas (or set the price ages ago).
They don't buy it on a daily basis, they buy it in advance.

According to an energy analyst on the radio this morning
it was the nPower Tracker tariff which prompted
    British Gas to lower prices.

Don't think much of their revamp, I've been trying to sort out a bill with them since July but have given up now and passed it to energywatch. Actually customer services was better 2 years ago when was put through to specialist dept and had continuity to talk to same person until problem sorted.
