BG's claim they are the cheapest gas supplier in the country doesn't look like it will last long...

Also dc you have it the wrong way around, it is 17% for gas and 11% for electricity. You seem pretty determined to spread misinformation today :p

We certainly did make the right decision going with EDF a couple of years back on their online account and not going with a fixed rate, as through all this time it has remained the cheapest and has work out we saved a lot more taking the gamble and not paying the higher fixed rate.

Can only be a matter of time of when they bring their down too.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Talked to my mate earlier who read this thread and he has just changed from BG,he said that the tariffs dc quoted here earlier were exactly what he was paying.

He was on the dual fuel tariff with BG.

dc got the reduction the wrong way around but his original tariffs were
correct,my calc were done with the correct reduction(17% gas) making the new rate inc vat 4.321p/kw 1st 1127 and 2.441 thereafter with a £24 SC.

I very much doubt any of BG`s other gas tariffs will come down by more
than 17% they will always shout out the biggest reduction.

Yes kathrynt, but they haven't released the details yet though. It remains to be seen if it will be a recycling of the current winter fuel rebate system, or if the scheme will be widened and improved?

Those on the BG winter-rebate scheme will remain on the scheme as per the last couple of years, or so a relative has been told.

It tells you a lot about BG when it is virtually impossible to
see price details of any of their tariffs on their own
    website.

They have Q&A on virtually everything apart from the
actual price which for some reason they try to hide from
    the public on the website.

50 brownie points to the 1st person who can find a link on the
BG website that shows the actual cost,go to Ebico and it is
there clear as day in 2 clicks, enough said.

You need to go to the product you want the rates for (they have loads of tariffs like click, standard, discounted - it's like the nationwide advert!) then select 'Find out out gas and electricity prices'.

I've also found a page which lists all the 'old' tariffs. You can't link directly, but if you go to Products and services > gas, electricity & more > gas & electricity > more information > gas and electricity prices, you can choose which tarif you want to display the prices for. It also has their standard rate.
