Thanks Beanie. Yes she is so weary from consecutive years of exams. She needs a break and recognises that. Think a year of working and travelling and she will do her skill for DoE Gold etc will be a good stepping off point to other things. Think it will be uni, but who knows where..
Must shake a feather and shimmy off...should have checked out!!

Sounds like you are doing well brizzle well done on the run and class, you're putting me to shame
. No gym at all last week when off work, but did walk over 10,000 steps every day which for me is unheard of and heel still not in good shape. Must call physio again tomorrow.
Your plans are fab, hope you enjoy your time off.0 -
I agree your plans sound great
Well done to DH getting pay rise - I also work in public sector and pay rise percentages are a joke. I don't know why they're so afraid to give a decent pay rise we work our socks off for them.
Have a good week BrizzleI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Had a brilliant time. Very stress free trips there and back by train. Fantastically located Air BnB place which was homely and the girls loved hanging out there. We saw lots of art and rode on the trams a lot. A 72 hour pass was excellent value. Loved the way that the cars were in second place to bikes, trams and being a pedestrian. The Anne Frank House was probably the most sobering place, learned lots from a talk before we went in, then a slow walk round a largely furniture free house except for Anne’s film star postcards on the wall etc..I also hadn’t realised that the family had already fled Germany in 1933, so refugees before they went into hiding...all felt pretty sh8te when we walked out. So important to remember if the circumstances are right ie. so wrong then it could all happen again
One of the best finds was the church in the attic...well worth a visit. Also kids under 18 were often free or cheap entry. It certainly felt much cheaper than Paris which we visited last year.
DD2 rather intrigued by the drug references...especially the souvenir t-shirts!! But quite easy to avoid if you wanted to (and easy not to if you’d wanted to!!)
Hope everyone is OK.
Today I am planning to do some serious decluttering. Also have made some big TTs and still hacking away at the final debt.
Will keep you posted

Welcome back brizzle and so pleased you all had a fantastic time!
Yes I remember feeling a bit down after coming out of the Anne Frank House. Still Amsterdam is such a fun, easy going place with a great atmosphere. There’s something about it that especially appeals to the young as well so understand why your kids enjoyed it.
Good luck with the decluttering! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Hmmm...not so sure about the serious decluttering.. lets put it this way, I have not yet ventured into the loft
and the day is heading towards 4pm...:(
Instead I took DD2 to a club and suddenly the day seemed over. Sunny though which I always enjoy. She is now doing homework without complaint so thats a brucie bonus
Also on the plus side I have finally listed about 15 items on the Bay. How jwil does it so regularly and on so many items I will never know. Total respect!! When/if they sell I will knock them off my target. My rule is that its not decluttered until it has left the houseAnyhow its a start...I am fighting off a cold which means I am not sleeping (a plug for the sympathy vote??:) :rotfl:)..Exercise wise I did a class last night. Will also try and go for a short 3 mile run this evening and do a class tomorrow. Its so hard finding time during the week that if I don't go at the weekend I am snookered.
Got a new pair of trainers yesterday. The other ones had given up - ie. disintegrated after c.10 years  so it was time for some more but they are not cheap are they?? Hope they make the road miles zoom by..
Other than DD2's class no spends. Simple pasta dish this eve...pasta with sausages in spicy tomato sauce and salad. Quick cheap and easy..whats not to like I think. Pasta is always a crowd pleaser in this house.
Hope everyone is in good spirits..can't believe the clocks go back tomorrow..where has the summer gone??
