Hope you're enjoying your spa break, sounds heavenly. I'm going to weigh the gold today and get it sent off. Mr SA has a heavy gold bracelet he never wears but he refuses to add it to the stash even though it's stuffed in a drawer and he never knows where it is most of the time.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Sent off the gold - a broken bracelet, chain that's gone twisted and chain that won't stay flat so never wear. Sent off last night, got £369.70 in bank today. Well chuffed!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Hi all, popping in swiftly.
Ignored the siren call of a coffee at the station and so a NSD! Whoop.
Also did a PC survey and shuffled the money and topped up my fund for THEM. I may also be in the running for some additional work which will be very useful...will keep you posted. Looks like OH will not be applying for VR and will just sit it out. He hasn't the energy or just the inclination for doing it...and ultimately it's his decision so I am backing off.
Think that's it. Off to update sig.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Morning, ladies and gents :T and what a fine morning it is...(well kind of...am just feeling optimistic!) Anyhow, at least its not raining..:rotfl:
Thanks everyone. Well the good wishes bore fruit and I think I have another 4 days a month ( as and when I want them, so could be a little more or less) for the rest of the financial year. This is good news and, as importantly, fits with my existing commitments. Whoop bloody whoop.:T:T
Host family payments continue (they are paying very promptly) and I have agreed to another student for an extended period over the Xmas/NY period and the upcoming weekend. It all helps even if I will feel like the Old Lady who Lives in a Shoe...
The FIT payment was over £100 more than I expected when it arrived yesterday so very pleased about that. All makes YNAB a little easier.
However on the 'negatives', I think the bills to THEM will be horrendous. I am still answering the odd query re my accounts so no news as yet.
Not a NSD day yesterday as DD2 needed food tech ingredients..we had no pasta. extraordinary but true. So a small spend there, but it was a LSD.
In other things...have just finished a load of household chores, vehicle breakdown cover (unfortunately so specialised can't use TCBetc etc; )expecting to do some nice sociable things this weekend as well as popping in for lunch with in laws etc. Plus some mentoring of a friend and, separately, an ex-colleague, later today so actually had best get a shimmy on. In fact, thinking about it, I will suggest to the friend our families don't exchange presents but maybe get together for a meal at home in January instead...she is going to have a cash strapped few months and I might as well lead that discussion that way.. I have told her about this site AND YNAB..but I suspect it remains on her 'to do' list...
Hope everyone is good, will pop back later..

I knew I spoke too soon...its absolutely horrid here now.. Foul.
DD1 has just cycled home from school and she is soaked
Have just also pulled the proverbial out and refreshed the CV and sorted a long overdue agreement and sent that off. Also did the mentoringand now set for my weekend to start properly.
Was tempted to do some grocery shopping, but resisted until I have meal planned so will do that tomorrow. So as long as OH has not spent anything today we will have a NSD..fingers crossed

Hello Brizzle,
Haven't caught up from September, just your last few posts, sounds like its busy busy busy as ever at yours! I remember hosting days - the more the merrier - much more profitable for just a bit more work. The most I had at any time was 4 students for half term holidays  I don't think I could tolerate that nowbut it paid the bills at the time:) but pay was always prompt
