Great evening and very late to bed

Today we have spent, but got MOVs for a cheeky Chinese takeaway (it is Chinese New Year after all;)) and a huge £27 off my grocery order :T using some loyalty points and then a code they sent me. Means that the valentines chocs for OH and DDs and toiletries I bought (shower gels so not terrible spends) were effectively all free :T

Chooks laying very well and items going up onto Bay of E :)

Have a great weekend folks x

    Hi

Lounging in bed reading paper whilst OH prepares an item for sale. Shocking!! ;) Best go and help..but before I do ;)

Have a look at the items you don't need anymore (be ruthless) and then see on Bay of E etc what else that is similar is selling for and what might be better off being sold rather then using Freecycle or going to a CS. You might be surprised.

Take good photos, (I would never look at any item for sale without pictures), but you can use a smartphone. They changed the sellers site last year (year before?) and it's now really easy to use. Use Pay Pal for income.

Set the starting price at what you'd feel happy to let it go for. That's really important to me. You can't start by feeling shafted because an item worth £99 was started by you at £9.99 and you only got £9.99 in a sale.

Spell everything correctly and make use of key words or phrases like Good Condition in the title

If there is a lot of interest don't give in to a BIN (buy it now) price too early/at all.

Use Royal Mail site and a set of scales to properly assess postal fees so you can don't look like a rip off or conversely lose out.

Set yourself a target for sales. It does get boring and a pain when packing and posting etc and I certainly find a goal to aim for helps. Maybe £50 to start you off? (Don't forget to take into account fees).

Jwil is a great bayer. Am sure she will have some suggestions too.

    Have a great Sunday

Hoping for a quieter day today. Working, but hunkered down at home as weather so miserable. Cats very out of sorts..think it's the storm.

SC Sausage casserole today with mash for tea and LOs for lunch. Juggled some money around they accounts and used a MOV for a coffee yesterday. All small moves forward. We also walked into and back from town where we bought a few bits - DD2 even helped me find a M€ybelline foundation instead of my usual C@arins one, when she saw it was £30 she dragged me away and said let's try somethingelse - £7.99. Very :money: I told her. Just hope it's as good

Then met up with OH and instead of coffee/cake out bought delicious baklava and scoffed it at home instead :) Watched last episode of W&P..in front of the wood burner which was loaded up with off cuts. So a very frugal day in many ways.

    Have a good week.

    Hey Brizzle,
    Thanks for dropping by earlier:):A
I'm always in awe of your ebaying, I have dabbled but never really got into it. I think you probably need some quick successes to get motivated, because it really is boring listing everything. I've tried getting DS on board with the bribe that he can keep the money, if he can take pics and post, all to no avail :(

    Hi NOA..

The money definitely keeps me motivated and the decluttering too..bit of saying "thank you, you've served your purpose now you can be converted into cash and I am putting that towards my debts.."

The family on board helps though. No denying that.

Have a good eve. Hope things are easing for you

Quiet day. It was spent working and listening to the wind howling around the house. Woodburner now lit and more offcuts going up in smoke. More items listed and one sale. £11.99 towards the goal..all helpful but a long way to go mind.

SC stew was lush. Laundry done. Finally updated my Save £12k in 2016 thread for January (and so my signature :)) Small declutter. Sitting down now and thinking of an early night as an early start tomorrow. Cup of tea even though rather tempted by wine..this whole Dry January lark is making a difference (well early days but so far anyway :))

    Hope everyone is well
