    Hello lovelies

All busy here. When isnt it???!

All good though. DDs have settled back into school quickly. The sunny weather has kept spirits high and general feeling of optimism is seeping through..however..the leaky purse is a pity as we have an OD again. Uggh. Its mainly as I have been trying to salt away some savings faster than I can really afford and there is a bit about cashflow as I am freelance but even so.. annoying. We need tighter financial controls ;) OH is so busy he has stopped checking YNAB and whilst it all still gets logged, there is not that 'closeness' to the financial picture as it were.

Meal planning is going well. Makes a huge difference to mood when you get home but also makes it less likely we say 's+d it - lets go out'. Work is full on and I am still full time :( However more news on that front as I may be going staff...yes, another change. Definite advantages given security, pension etc..but less flexibility, probably less money in pocket and less ability to remove myself from office politics! Yet again given the tax changes next year may be a closer run thing financially than I had thought. I don't know. I just don't know. Having just done some invoicing and madly behind on the book keeping for example, maybe I just don't want the stress..maybe I should hire you to do it for me Mrs PG!!! :)

Um. Think thats it for now. Will try and cruise diaries but can hardly keep eyes open...what a non existent social life I lead!

Fab! Well I can genuinely recommend this fair city...for all ages and types of folk. Do PM me if you want any advice on practicalities MSE type options etc. Accommodation and public transport can be pricey here..my advice would be to get a bike!! But plenty of choice between UoB and UWE...something for everyone!!

Very long standing (can't say old!;)) and dear friends down with their kids to stay this weekend. Nothing much planned so far. Looking forward to a life affirming weekend :) with lots of chat. House full of peeps sleeping on sofas and kipping on floors :D but with any luck OH will start the fry up soon! (and thank goodness for a good natured lodger,:))

    Have updated my sig.

I am saving for my tax bills...still need to work out what they might be :o so have updated my sig to give plenty of scope for that. All being stashed away in an OP pot in the mortgage so it's working hard. Kids fund for future is also looking healthy (£6k) which is in a stocks & shares ISA.

The pot that is empty does need some attention...may start to work on that next month. It's the 'household - something needs replacing, unexpected bills pot'.. which currently has nada precisely nothing in it

Nice to see it all there sets out in the sig tho..now to colour or not to colour ;)

Do hope someone picks up the MFiT thread..third time lucky for me am hoping !! Hoping to emulate the fab Mrs Tilly;)

    Hi Briizzle.
I've been thinking of getting a wonder bag. I saw one advertised (randomly on line) for about £38. It isn't high enough in my list of priorities to make a purchase though yet. Also I want to shop around as I have no idea whether that was expensive or cheap or average-will look into it when it is higher on my list of priorities.
I'm Hopi g someone will take the reins for another MFIT thread. I'm determined to smash mine ASAP.
Well done on the savings - my emergency pot is slowly growing, just need to keep at it. I also need to up my income - somehow. It's all a bit mad here at the moment.
Right, off to see if I can sort some more stuff out to add to eb@y listings. :)

Well we liked Bristol, the city but sadly the course is not a patch on what is being offered 'across the bridge', despite the swanky new facilities. Other place also had mega millions ploughed in to it and new and shiny but they didn't quite carp on so much about it!!!!!!.........:o Got to weigh it all up and still 2 more places to go to visit......

Enjoy the visits! You're right, the quality of course is extremely important...unis like to go on about the 'student experience' but actually quality teaching and learning is ultimately what its all about

Musing musing... Think will be substantially down on income if I accept staff role but as its part time could do other things?

It's tempting to continue freelance. It's served me well so far. This is maybe my first test of resolve?
