Hello, I'd noticed you were back posting again and I've finally found the time to have a catch up :)

So, mortgage free in six years - lucky you :). Though actually, we will/should be too because we'll have paid off the pesky debt and sold our BTL to clear the mortgage. Good times ahead - what will we do with our money and time :D?!
LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

    Debt Dec 11: Unsecured £69,579 + Mortgage £59,948 = £129,527
Debt May 21: Unsecured ZERO! ZILCH! Mortgage £22,332

Hiya! Good to hear from you... I think we should both wear purple and a hat of red that clashes., or however the poem goes!:D

It'd be a huge help. Living on one salary as Mrs T managed to do last year would suddenly seem a possibility. At the moment the mortgage ( at v v low rates) is bloody hell... Have just worked it out properly for the first time.. 77% of OH's take home. OK, I earn good money but even so....And now am a freelancer to boot so security much less than it was. So yes getting shot of the mortgage (and thank god it's repayment) would be a huge help. Also linking in with big birthday goals ;) to add fuel to our commitment.

Hope you have a great weekend.. Anything planned?

The biggest thing I got from the Marie Kondo book was the bit about handling things and seeing if they 'spark joy'. It makes a big difference in deciding whether to keep something or not for me.

I also thought that life was too short for folding stuff, but it's really amazing the difference it makes in space and storing stuff, and how tidy it looks!

There is an awful lot of waffle in the book though and some of it is quite airy fairy.

Agreeing with you JWIL - I found her quite irritating, clinical repetitive and just a little bit without empathy! I got the book after starting the whole process by reading a very good thread on here about it. Had I come to book first I would never have gone round handling stuff and saying out loud 'does it spark joy?':rotfl:

And as for folding knickers..............its revolutionised my laundry and clothes storage routine:rotfl:

Hi Igamogam....that made me chuckle..not sure I will ever be folding my underwear..

What a day weather wise...now enjoying the strong sun in Cornwall and trying not to get burnt! ..after absolutely torrential rain! Bonkers.

Bangers and mash for tea we have decided.. we are all settled on enjoying the simple things in life :) oh and another vodka and tonic for the chef aka. me! We made the HM vodka about 2 years ago infused with lemon and lime doncha know... and rediscovered it at back of larder about a fortnight ago, its slipping down extremely nicely! :D
