Hello all
Hope you're enjoying the sun this weekend.. back after a glorious week in Greece.. (was wonderful, got loads of sleep and chill time, first holiday in ages when haven't come back needing another immediately!).. and was straight into some very bleak cold weather so this is a welcome change.
Bit like some of the posters on some forums here, I am still trying to get myself back into more regular posts as it helps with the discipline so so much. We are slipping..I know we are as I can see the figures and things like the inevitable interest rate rises and the fact that I have a massive goal to pay our mortgage off in next few years should be driving me on..and it isnt so need to get my focus back ASAP. (Plus I miss the chat with all the lovely peeps on here)
Brought lots of euro notes back..still trying to work out whether to change it back or to hang onto it as the exchange rate was so good and am sure we will be away again in Europe at some time.
so anyway, today...
Am planning to do a lamb kleftiko tomorrow in honour of the recent hols. Need to get some salad stuff and lemons from the local greengrocers but lamb is from bulk buy from local farm that went into the freezer a few months ago. Will marinade it this evening. The recipe makes it look seriously yummy. We will eat outside I hope. HM burgers this evening so a serious meat fest in store.
The joy of small things...someone has handed in DD's lost phone. Thank you whoever that was.. and the holiday laundry is almost done. Yippee.
I have meal planned for the week and done a large tinternet shop using a w8aitrose voucher of £20 off. Knew that if I held off buying from them for about 6 months they'd capitulate sooner rather than later
Free5ycled a bed frame today. We could have got something for it but in the end was better just to declutter.
Hope everyone has a good weekend

They are L, they are.
It started one year with gorillas, (think that raised money for the zoo) then it was dogs (Gromits) and now sheep..raises shed loads of cash for the local children's hospital but also importantly..it's free! A friend was raving only yesterday about how it filled a magical day with the kids, pootling about checking them out and she spent nothing as she took drinks and snacks. The other lovely thing is that on the Shaun Trail you see all ages and backgrounds...
My favourite is still the crocheted one in St Nicks market
Not sure what they will come u with next year though! Running out of options?

Hope everyone is good.
Just realised that forgot to marinade the lamb!!! Balls. Friends came round and I don't know..I forgot. Must do now.
Then planning to take my DD2 out for a short run.... Then afternoon at leisure....should be doing some work stuff but think might have to wait until next week.
In other news OH and I have been looking at YNAB and forecasts and have an emerging goal to pay off the mortgage in 6 years...( channelling Miss Tilly?!!) anyway if we are prudent, rates don't rocket and we keep the income coming in it is possible which would be simply amazing. I need to do some more work on it, as there are other savings and pensions pots to be thought about...but seriously seems like end could be in sight. Oh and next time someone suggests we spend more on extending or remodelling the house..I will have an even better reason to say no!!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

I dunno brizzie - 'Wendolines' - life size :rotfl: I've not seen them 'in the flesh' - we were in Tyntesfield a few weeks before the installation became live (Gromits), but if Nick Park has involvement, then there are infinite possibilities - CHICKENS!Or the 'sheep' dog (close shave) - or Wererabbits!
I have to say, it sounds like its such fun, that it wouldn't matter if it was sheep/gromits every year - done up by different people/organisations.
You're sounding chipper anyhoo. Great to have you back

Hi there..
Hope everyone is OK. Not feeling very perky this week..reckon my high living/high working lifestyle is finally catching up with meHope remainder of week is better than the start anyway.
We are giving it a go. Roll on being MFiS..six years to freedom. May even do a chart to push us on our way. Am sure there will be twists and turns. Like our boiler may need replacing..or something major on the house, but its a goal. And as you all know, I like a goal!
Quiet day today. Will try and get round the dairies and maybe post later.
Hugs to all
