Cazmanian - how do you upload photos - I have never been able to work it out!

You need to have them online somewhere else first, e.g. Flickr or Photobucket. Then right-click on the picture and choose 'Copy image location', come back to the forum and above the box where you type your reply, there's a little icon that looks like a landscape picture (yellow background, two triangles for mountains at the bottom and a tiny round sun in the top right corner). Click that and a box will pop up asking for your image link. Paste in the image location and click OK.

Just had a quick catch up - MF in six years sounds amazing!
I think it will be more like 16 for us:( but who knows - maybe kids will take it over sooner!

Great news about DD's early GCSE's - well done to her :j

I can't seem to see any of the photos? Any ideas? all I can see is a little box with a cross on it - nothing happens when you click on it:(

Have a lovely week - sun is out again. :)

    Hi folks

Beautiful day yesterday. Sunny for most of it. Bit mixed I think for today, but it's lovely just not being at work.

Trying to keep spends to a minimum, but never easy when on hols. 4 of us are all big eaters, so bills if we eat out, even when just buying stuff for a picnic, is never cheap. But buying some lovely local food which is great.

Another hit of the week is using the Wonderbag again. Jointed a chicken and cooked it up after it being put in a 24hr marinade . No recipe really, just what we had. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. Plenty for a second meal too. It's such a great idea for when you are camping or even just to slow cook without using any electric at all. Yes they take up a lot of space but are totally worth it!

Anyway..hope everyone has a good day and an even better bank hol weekend

Thanks NOA. DD is thrilled and has put her in a good place for Y11. Her friends did well too...so everyone seems happy and that basically, hard work pays off.

16 is OK...:) We did start a mortgage 17 years ago ( which would make the mortgage period still 22 years if we did hit our goal..so hardly gold medal winning performance on these kind of forums!) but had a few years where we added considerably to it....several times...(and had all the CC debt too as you know), so that's why we are where we are. Just want to get shot of it now. It's a huge monthly payment and even if interest rates are low, it's means that OH and I have to work. I would like to change that and give us different options.

Savings and pension have taken a hammering over last few days.. With all the online stuff now I feel very close to the troughs and peaks of my 'worldly wealth'! Have to say though it's a long term commitment so need to remember that and not panic.

OH is thinking about working again FT..I think it's a retrograde step. But not sure how to dissuade him...more talking needed I think.

Hi jwil...they are simply padded bags with a drawstring which the lidded pot sits in. I got the pattern, then realised I wouldn't get around to making one..so bought one via a frugal blogger. Can't remember the name of the lady offhand, mores the pity. [Subsequent note: of course it was Elaine Colliar and she recommended someone.] If you get a branded one they are about 50% more from memory.

Hi Robin  how's you?? All good I hope. thanks for dropping by.

Y'know I think it was Mooloo who indeed made mine.. not sure I kept a record.

Lives up to its name tho - even OH is convinced. Altho we use a SC at home it's not needing a hook up when in the campervan which is so great.
