Hi Brizzle!!
I am HOOKED on your diary!! I've been reading the first few pages this evening, think I got to around 11 then was distracted by the fact my sticky toffee pudding was ready
Honestly, we have so many similarities - I feel like I'm you, just a few years behind (please don't be scared when I say this, I'm not some crazed stalker, only of MSE diaries). Its heartening to see where you were and how far you've come, and I just can't wait till my totals look anything like yours, so WELL DONE!!!!!

Daisystar..what a totally gorgeous thing to say...I am touched and very pleased to hear that you're enjoying my ramblings and winding, meandering journey. Welcome aboard!
The skiing drives me on too...new salopettes bought for DD1 for £16 on bay of E..good value...no Snow & Rock this year if we can help it! Rest of gear that was outgrown etc sold. I am sure you will be at the Trois Vallees again soon! We hope to be able to justify being there v soon.....
Had a great time at the cinema. Not a spare seat there. F&C beforehand. Walked there and got a cheap bus back thanks to a lovely driver..more kindness of strangers...have had more than my fair share of that recentlyand took sweets and drinks with us so no further spend.
Ace day. Blissful family stuffMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Seriously, friends came round to a lovely brunch so we are full of bacon rolls...delish!and we also all talked about downsizing and being mortgage free...really need OH to see this as an option for us. It would make such a difference to our life.. Our friends are moving to a good street which would if we moved there too..would mean we could be MF. It's an exciting thought!! :rotfl:

Pastry pie with mashed potato, herbs, green peppers, chorizo, red onion and blue cheese layered on top..with a pastry case. Oh well, hopefully will taste good! It was certainly cheap. Maybe £1.50 tops with enough potato leftover for fish cakes tomorrow. Just mixed the mash with a tin of tuna and some herring roe and lots of pepper and dill.
Enough pastry left over for a jam tart each.
Recovering now before going for a run before it gets really dark. OH is making cookies and has got the DDs the necessary thermals etc from G@ Outdoors for the winter at 40% of what I had budgeted...which was already low. So v pleased at his canny scrutiny of the tinternet. Just need to check that they all fit.

That pie sounds good, obviously my slice will have to have the chorizo removed if it's not too much trouble
I'm going to have a look at those thermals, I live in mine throughout the winter, some new ones would be nice!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Hi Brizzle I fancy the pie - sounds very nice.
I've never used roe for fish cakes - do you use tinned or fresh?
