    Hi all

Sorry SBO...not very intriguing, slip of the fat fingers then and I meant I need a home use dye..not a salon one which is what I used to do..£80 a pop:eek: this will be about £5. I now try and go to the salon every 8/9 weeks not 3! Hair grows every fast

Hens haven't been laying but there was an egg yesterday. Hate it when they are broody and/or don't lay. Thought it was originally the heat, but that can't have been the excuse for the last fortnight.

OH really cross with himself as he accidentally went onto a DVLA document checking site, not the real one and has now no replacement licence & is £60 down and so has paid for a service he didn't need. Warning to everyone else...don't do the same thing!!, I have forgiven him but we have agreed we need to do some eBaying to make up for it!

    Onwards and upwards!

Kerri, haven't used a TD in years. Gave ours away some time last year and it hadnt been unused for months before. You're in the mild mild South West now!! ;)

Balloons would have been good..pity they couldn't do the last evening flight but safety rules I guess given sheer number of balloons and spectators.

Will try and find a time to pop over..maybe when kids are back at school if I can carve a couple of hours out of my day I can pop over for coffee..

  • Brizzle - you are an inspiration on the spending front! Meatballs is a great idea - might make some myself as bought a pack of mince yesterday :o...Sorry for being dumb but what does DGP stand for? Why are your childcare costs halved?? - think I may have missed that. Anyway, you're doing an awesome job :D

    Hmm.. Lost the last post.

Bad news..just realise how much we are running to stay still..

-previously unknown/ unexpected childcare bill has come though so £80 extra
    - repair for van, the issue which OH tried but couldn't fix will be £300 ish for parts and labour:eek:

Boll@x. Hate it. Obsessed with getting this debt down and this is standing in my way:mad: on top of the licence thing that's a real hit today.

At least OH will have some OT this month and loads in September.

Lentil Dahl it is for me this week and more from the freezer! And will have to kick start the ebaying. Have broken beyond repair 2 handbags too...so need to think about what I do..certainly wont involve purchasing in the H@@bs sale Piq;)

    ...stomps off....

    :(

Hi brizzled - found your diary! Have subscribed. Hate unexpected bills/costs and bad luck with the licence thing - websites should be clearer though - how many others have been caught out?
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Brizzle - is it worth complaining about that £60 charge? - it sounds totally dodgy to me. I bet tons of people have been unnecessarily caught out. :( Maybe to your MP or a consumer watchdog or something? get the site investigated...

I feel your pain on childcare bills. I added up my total bill has been in the region of £38,000 since I started...and counting

And as for cars, well, sigh...think of it as a small investment in the van that earns you ££££. You'll get there in the end .

    Keep losing posts..

Thanks for popping by guys. Lovely to 'see' you Mrs SA..coincidentally I was just posting on your diary and came back to see you had posted on mine. Welcome!

Just so frustrating BH....had earmarked the extra money for CCs and so annoying to have to divert it to the Garage/parts supplier....but at least we have the hires. I may hustle for some more.see what we can get.

Childcare is crippling expensive. Many years ago was working just to pay a nanny..had 2 and it was cheaper than a nursery but even so. It was absolutely the right thing for my family long term but when I eventually realised that the reason my OD was steadily growing every month for the previous year was because of childcare I was pretty horrified..:embarasse Seemed nuts and also shows you how financially illiterate I was then. Now here I am begrudging every dime I spend!!:rotfl: luckily now getting to stage when they can look after themselves more and I can work from home a bit which helps with logistics.

Did he pay on a debit or credit card? If credit card then can't you get them to investigate it, I'm sure there's something about them giving you back the pennies if it's done on a CC.
