Wow - 8 pages already!!?? I shall read it all later - just wanted to post my good news! Halifax have refunded £3500 worth of bank charges AND OH has got his bonus of £12000! (before tax) so that's at least 1 more credit card paid off and a sizeable chunk of another. WOO-HOOO!!! More money to throw at remaining debt to get ourselves debt-free!

Lots and lots of snow here today - at least 3 - 4inches worth. OH tried to go to work....carefully....he was slip-sliding all the way out of the road. Front wheel doing normal revolutions, back wheel doing 1000revs per second! 3/4hour later he's back trying to get into the drive. Car park at station is full, despite there being less cars in there - they've all parked haphazardly because a)they can't see the white lines and b)they are sliding rather than parking.
50 minutes after attempt 1 to get onto the drive, he's finally in the garage. Had to clear the snow from the drive & road outside and eventually I had to sit in the boot and bounce to enable the car to get enough traction to float gracefully on the snow. :D

Have taken LO to the park where she loved crunching snow under her boots and making footprints. The local children have built 7 snowmen on the green and we had to go and say Hello to every one of them! She also liked the warm milk that I gave her when we came back in. :)

Anyway, Daughter's upstairs asleep and OH is working, so suppose I'd better think about tea.... :D

Hope everyone's had a good day....

Stuff it, I think I'll read the thread instead of thinking about tea! :D

    Hi all :hello:

I'd just got off the bus and was waiting to cross the road, there were some boys having a snowball fight opposite me, one stepped out on to the road to throw snow at the bus and didn't notice a car coming towards him  The car hit him - and he landed on the pavement crying for his mum  Luckily the car was going quite slow. A man turned up a couple of minutes later, said he was an ambulance technician so he helped while we waited for the boy's mum. I reckon his arm is broken, probably his leg too  I gave the car's passenger my address and phone number in case they need witness statements (I don't know how it all works - do they need witnesses?), the driver was helping with the boy. She was really calm and doing well, as soon as there were other people there to help she moved away a bit and burst into tears  The boy has gone off in an ambulance, hope he's ok.

tru - how distressing for you,the boy and I also really feel for his parents. Did anyone call the police? I think I've read somewhere that an accident has to be reported if someone is hurt.

I don't know. The passenger rang the ambulance and made a couple of other quick calls too, I don't know who to though. It didn't occur to me to ring them, I'd imagine they'd know though, from the call to the ambulance?
