whats the best frozen veg?

The thread on bulking out meals got me thinking,we all have our favorite frozen veg,so what is everyones favorite veg of choice that you cannot do without having in the freezer?

For me it's;

Frozen Peas
Frozen Sweetcorn
Frozen String Beans.

I could eat any of those three by the bucketload!:rotfl:

For me it has to be frozen peas and frozen baby broad breans. I could just eat bowlful's of these, and do! I have to buy 2 bags of each a month just for two of us! :p
  • I have taken to keeping a bag of Tesco Casserole Veg in my freezer for times when I want to make soup but don't have time to prep or don't have all the necessary fresh veg. I add some lentils and cook it all in stock and blitz it. Delicious and ready in next to no time at all.
  • Sweetcorn
    Petit pois
    Broccoli
    Cauli

I bought a pack of those new aunt bessies peas and sweetcorn mix the other week, they went down really well in this house, really sweet and tasty, not sure why they are different from normal peas and sweetcorn but yum!

I don't like frozen carrots, they never seem to be cooked properly!

Spinach in the little nuggets is brilliant, you can add a few to a curry instead of having to buy a big bagful.
The value bags of mixed veg are great for adding to rice, cottage pie, all sorts.
Thin green beans, fresh are expensive and these aren't too bad.
Peas of course but it's the only veg OH doesn't eat:)

Sliced green beans, oh my god I love them! But I hardly ever get them because my husband doesn't like them and we only have a tiny freezer.

I really like frozen broccoli. It's so nice roasted, and it's really cheap!

I like Aldi's frozen mediterranean mix. Not super cheap, and they come out a tiny bit mushy, but it's nice to have a little bag of pre-prepared summer in the freezer when all you've been eating is parsnips and kale :)

I can't eat a lot of onion so often use leeks in stews / casseroles / soups etc. I'd be lost without them!
