whats the best frozen veg?

We use quite alot of frozen veg, with 4 health conscious teenagers, 2 of whom are now vegetarian.
I once read that the darker the veg, generally the more nutrient dense. So spinach, brocolli, greens, beetroot and carrots get the priority budget wise. If they are not cheap fresh I will buy them frozen. Though if we get frozen we purposely undercook them as everyone in our family likes them with a bit of 'bite'.
Brocolli and cauliflower can be grilled from frozen with a teaspoon of marigold stock powder sprinkled on top. I've actually made this and had teens stood around in the kitchen chatting and 'tasting' polish off a whole tray!
An Italian friend taught me how to let frozen spinach defrost, chop it up, add chopped garlic, lemon juice and olive oil. It's yum.No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -
we use our slow cooker a lot at the moment at least 3 nights of the week, with people generally saying not to over cook the frozen veg would you tend to rule out using most in the slow cooker? at the moment we tend to use fresh carrot, parsnip, pots, leeks, celery, turnip, frozen pea...think thats it so to put some extra veg or vary it would be nice?£18 for my old mobile.

I remain undecided.
Must admit that the banker side of me kicks in on this one as I know that our friends in the US have a big economic interest in promoting corn/maize. I read an article a while back on the economics of food that was about this.
There are lots of sources on the nutritional content of corn that are outside the US. I'm familiar with how the corn industry in the US has unreasonably pushed corn as an ethanol source. But, there is enough information on the nutrition of corn published outside the US to establish that there is useful nutrition in corn.

Difficult to find anything in Canada, but there's a bit down the bottom of this: http://www.truestarhealth.ca/Notes/3596001.html0
