    Thanks JackieG.

I also find that the frozen mash is pretty good as well, especially if I want to whip up a quick meal. The best one is Asda's frozen mash I've found.Normally I make mash from scratch, but sometimes lifes too short...lol

Frozen Peppers & Frozen Onions are better value, especially if making a curry or a stew,I personally think that in a lot of cases, frozen veg can be very MSE!

OH,as for Garlic Breaded Mushrooms,I get a big 2.5kg bag from my local Oriental Market in Belfast for around £2.75!...

Lidl's frozen fine green beans. 1kg for about £1. Why pay a ridiculous amount of money for 'fresh' beans flown in from Africa?

That's where I get my peas & beans from as well.Much better MSE than buying a smaller bag at Mr'T's...plus,Lidl's peas I find are much sweeter & yummier!

Always buy petit pois, but also peppers, onions and mushrooms for quickness.

Tried mash once from Mr A and it wasnt half bad!! again good for quickness.

I've been looking for Frozen Leeks but can't find them anywhere I've looked. (tesco.Lidl/Asda/CoOp)

My local morrisons has got them at the moment - really good value too, about £1.30 for 1kg.

Ditto, although I get Mr T's version for the same price. Lovely!

Everything else (apart from peas) in my freezer was fresh that I've frozen. Either leftover (e.g. mash) or usually reduced veg such as a big bag of onions which I peeled then chopped up finely in the food processor. Just used a tub of grated carrot (leftover from soup making) yesterday to make a cake. Popped it in straight from frozen, and it was lush. Will definitely be doing that again. :money:

    Hi all.
Money is becomming tighter every day and i am trying to spend as little as possible on food shopping, whilst still having enough fruit and veg in our diets (there is me and my 2 children to feed).

I spend a LOT of money on veg every week, as we all are quite big veg eaters. While i love the fact that my kids will eat lots of veg, i am finding that it is getting very expensive to get fresh veg. So i am thinking about buying the majority of my veg frozen instead of fresh.
I have sen places like farmfoods do big bags of frozen veg for £1 and it would save me a fortune!

I know it is said that frozen veg is just as good for you as fresh (as its frozen as soon as picked etc), but is this really true? Also, would you still get as much vitamins/minerals from (for example) Farmfoods frozen veg, as you would from (for example) Birds Eye frozen veg?

Also, does anyone use purely frozen veg all the time as opposed to buying any fresh veg? Any tips?
