I too have to get creative for meals sometimes, though have a reasonable stock of most things so the most expensive part of my meals at the moments tends to be the rice or pasta or potatoes and tinned tomatoes etc if none reduced
Shocking I know, but just got so many good deals on protein stuff0 -
Good Evening. Only popped to tesc0 this evening was going to try M0rrisons also but wasnt going home that way. reductions were as dire as i thought they were going to be but still picked up some reduced cold meat and cheese. wandered round the store getting a few more bits then went past the reductions again and noticed bags of potatoes had been added. picked up two bags of new potatoes priced at 26p each, took the trolly to the till and presented one of my lovely money off vouchers received with my clubcard statement this morning 50p off two bags of fresh potatoes, my two bags cost me 2p.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

Well computerfixer, i wish you were right! I did my usual and couldnt resist. I was selective though and only bought a whole chicken for £1.24 and a pack of leeks for 44p. Yes, a WHOLE chicken for £1.24, down from a fiver! I couldnt believe my eyes! But, no, he's still not happy as there was chicken breasts in the freezer that have been there for weeks. Oh well, roasted it last night and will have it in a curry tonight. Leeks wil do potato and leek soup for lunches next week.
Also, seen on HUKD that ASDA were selling 2 340g jars of Whole Earth Peanut Butter for £1. Inipped in on my way ome last night and there was no sign of the offer. I asked the guy at the till to check and it worked. He said it must have been a mistake but he just 'does what the machine tells him'! They showed as PNB on the list but at the bottom, where the multi buys come off it said 'Pineapple 2 for £1@:rotfl::rotfl: Love it when they make mistakes like that!June GC £130.93/£150Wedding Date Set 13th October 2012 :T0 -
Took MIL to Sainsbobs as she needed some bits and bought an entire Chorizo from the deli counter for £6, it was down to £5 a kilo so I'll split it with my neighbour and freeze some in pieces.
I had to pop into our little co-*p as after speaking to DH I had to rethink tea and needed some finger rolls. There was someone in there who I think must be 'one-of-us'. I had managed to resist the marked down sausages (have loads in freezer) and they had lots of mark down chicken but they aren't FR. Anyway I watched another lady come in and take at least half (there was loads) and I did wonder if she reads this thread.:DI was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

Some fab bargains you've all been getting.
Was in Sainsbury's on Monday, but was in fairly early and the reductions weren't great, half price at best, which just wasn't good enough.DH managed to get a bag of carrot batons for 9p the other night though. And my mum brought us some of the 30p fruit and veg from Morrisons. I shared one of the apples with the baby today, and they were lovely, so might need to get a some more.
Need to go to Tesco and Asda at least tonight, so will see what's about. Not expecting much though with it being Friday. Mummy to an amazing little girl0
