Looks like she's backing out and realises she can't take you for a fool anymore. Hence the "credit note".

Personally I would email her back (in this instance only) to ask her to confirm that the "credit note" plus £200 already paid is full and final settlement of the contract. You may want to wait for other replies first to confirm this course of action. (Will do - cheers)

    DO NOT PHONE HER!

    Thanks again bod1467.

No I won't be phoning her that is for sure!! Just don't get why she keeps insisting that I do? Is that because there won't be any record of the call?

Probably. And also so she can try and soft-soap you into continuing. ;)

Well she has already tried that in her last 4 emails and 3 text messages saying... is there no way you can continue?
If my husband loses his job we won't have enough money to pay the mortgage let alone anything else. Also how can she dream of me wanting to carry on with her when she's been so obviously just after the money?

If she had said ok I understand, but I'll have to keep your payment of £200 to cover costs. Whenever you are more financially secure please get back to me I may have considered it, but now? No chance! She is not taking the mick out of me twice!

Because I won't call her she is trying to scare me that my bill of £1300 (for doing nothing) is going up!

Write back acknowledging the full and final settlement, and then it is all done and dusted - hoorah!

    Well done you!

Yep exactly what I was thinking piglet25!

She has already said things that she said she told me already on the phone which she hadn't, so not falling for that one again ;)

Looks like paddy agrees with me. Email her back to state that you consider the "credit note" and the initial £200 payment as full and final settlement of the contract, and she must confirm this is the case by return email. Failure to confirm this status will result in you pursuing your case with Consumer Direct (or whoever you've been dealing with) with a view to recovering your £200 payment less her provable costs.

Good question, and I'm not sure if she did. However I expect OP just wants to see the back of this and get on with her life.
