Attempting to speed my comp up following closed's thread - help maybe needed!

The download time was fluctuating massively then it jumped from download time of 1 hr to 16 hours so I cancelled & have just rebooted & about to try again.

Message on start up "you have used system configuration to make changes to the way windows starts. It is currently in diagnostic or selective start up mode, causing this message to be displayed & the utility to run every time windows starts. Choose the normal start up mode on the general tab to start windows normally and undo the changes you made using the system configuration utility" ??

Ok will do. Took ages getting on online, just started downing loading via your link & it's still saying 17 estimated time !!!!!!??!!

have you fixed the proxy server?

Couldn't work that one out, sorry, even with my 18 yr old son helping me.

IE Tools, internet options, connections, lan settings

delete the proxy server, untick use a proxy server, ok
