But to your issue - is this a UK-based company? If yes, did they provide details of your rights under DSRs in a durable form (email, invoice, despatch note)? If no then you (technically) have 3 months and 7 days to inform the retailer of your intention to return for a full refund.
Strictly speaking, it's 7 working days after providing the customer with their rights in a durable format, to a maximum of 3 months and 7 days.

Texranger, on page 18 of the OFT's guide to the DSRs we are told...
The time limits for cancellation are as follows.
    For goods:
    • provided you give your consumer the required written information no later than the time the goods are delivered, their cancellation rights end seven working days after the day on which they received the goods
    • if you do not give your consumer the required written information by the time the goods are delivered, but do so within three months from the day after the day the consumer receives the goods, the cancellation rights will end after seven working days from the day after the day on which the consumer received the required written information, or
    • if you do not give the required written information at all (or give it after the three month period mentioned above), the consumer’s cancellation rights will end after three months and seven working days from the day after the day the consumer received the goods.

    Returns Policy
If returning an item to us it is essential that you contact us first for an appropriate RETURNS REFERENCE NUMBER AND RETURN ADDRESS.
    7 Day Money Back Guarantee
If you notify us that you wish to cancel the order in writing within 7 working days (from the day after receipt) and subsequently return your item to us we will issue a full refund of the purchase price. Delivery charges are none refundable where delivery is chargeable at the time of order including specialist delivery and surcharges. For the 7 day money back guarantee to apply the buyer will be fully responsible for the cost of returning the item. The item returned should be in good/like new condition otherwise the refund may not be granted. Please make every effort to keep the original packaging as transporting unboxed products by courier can cause a lot of problems. It is also reccomended that full insurance is taken out on your return for your own protection in case of loss/damage etc.

which i would say covers them under DSR

Provided that they also provided those terms in a durable form (email, printed on invoice or packing note). If not then they haven't informed the consumer (per the DSR requirements). Terms on a website are for information only - they are not a durable form.

And I would agree with you if the seller has supplied that notice in a durable manner.

Remember, page 3 of that same OFT guide says...
Durable medium is not defined in the DSRs. Our view is that it means a form in which information can be retained and reproduced but cannot be edited, such as an email that can be printed or a letter, fax or brochure that can be kept for future reference. We do not consider that information on a website is durable as it can be changed at any time after the consumer has accessed it. Technological advances may change what we regard as durable in the future.

texranger doesn't know what he's talking about (as usual)

a website is NOT a durable medium. And the OFT guide CLEARLY states that.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

    learn to read
earlier in the thread it was mentioned
Unless their Website offers some form of money back guarantee you aren't entitled to a refund unfortunately.
but this info is stated on the website as i provided, so yes after 11 years in retail i know what i am talking about.

also i have ordered goods from uksportsimports in the past and their terms were printed on the back of the delivery note/invoice

So they've covered themselves w.r.t. DSR returns. Thanks for confirming.

TexRanger, just admit that even after eleven years in retail you have made a mistake.

Why did you categorically state that TomWakefield was wrong?...
