Ok, so I have just registered for this forum because i cannot believe some of the comments I have read.
Why will some people walk in to Mulberry to buy a handbag for £3000 and some people go to Primark to buy a bag for £20.
Don't come on here and say You had Everest to quote for you and guess what, they were more expensive than the local guy. Really! No sugar Sherlock.
Yes. Ford are good cars, But would you walk out of the Ford dealership in to the Aston Martin dealership and say " theres a car next door for half the price". if you are looking for a great deal, dont ask Everest for a quote. Some people consider them to be the best. As they say "Fit the best, fit Everest". you dont ask them around to get the best quote, at least if you are that way inclined WAKE UP!.
I do not work for Everest, but i have worked for 3 small local companies who did offer great deals and were great value for money.
When you walk in to Mulberry the goods they sell dont even have prices on them, the people who buy there dont really care, price is not an issue. These same people would fit Everest in an instant because the perception is THEY are the best. Rant over, have a good day all0 -

But the poster claimed they didn't work for Everest! If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I just used Everest and I am in tears. They have installed scratched glass, drilled a hole in a window, forgot to screw in a number of fittings, constantly swore and are refusing to fit the new ledges that I paid for becuase it is too expensive for them to take out the windows again.
Everest has gotten far too big and now it seems have outsourced to Anglian as the fitters who came round were wearing their uniform. As repeated above DO NOT USE THEM, they are trying to pull the wool over my eyes because I am female and do not even have the decency to apologise.0 -
Agree absolutely. Just been told by installation manager that I shouldn't be cross with him after 40 visits in 2 years & Everest windows & patio doors are draughtier than 25 yr old windows they replaced! Ended up arguing with my husband & manager kept butting in, even though he was in another room, making situation & my demeanour 100 times worse. Can't take criticism from a woman! I don't know where I get the nerve! After visit from chief installation 'engineer' 6 months ago, who replaced constantly leaking windows, with scratched glass- we have even more problems. Would really like money back & go to local company. They have most of my pension pot & couldn't care less!0

I totally agree with you about the comparison with Mulberry.
Only last week I was in their shop and as you correctly mention they don't put prices on their stock. I picked out a nice wallet and enquired about the price. I was advised the wallet was £300 and told the sales assistant I would think about it while I browsed around the rest of the shop.
A few minutes later the sales assistant came over to me and told me she would ring her area manager to see if she could get a special discount for me. The area manager agreed to reduce the price of the wallet to £225 but only for today and I had to buy it there and then.0 -

As a point of interest, Everest almost went bust earlier this year. The company has since been rescued by the Better Capital recovery fund which paid £25m for 95% stake. All that £25m was pumped into the company to provide 'working capital' meaning that the existing shareholders got nothing. Contrast with the £45m that Brian Kennedy paid for the business when he bought it from Caradon in 1999.
It remains to be seen whether the new management can succeed in turning Everest around and keep the business going.
That must be why they ask their new sales people for a £200.00 deposit for the kit :rotfl:0
