i contacted Everest for bifolding door - saleman gave me a quote for £6147 for a 3 door panel- that was on the 50% sales price- so i rang, spoke to a manager who was very very rude - He confirmed that was correct full price would be £12k. everest quality is very high standard -
Well im sorry I am not willing to pay £6k for a 3 glassed panel door -
I will take my custom somewhere else - thank you0 -
I had Everest round as we needed 6 windows and 2 doors, I really couldn't believe the £30,000 price they reckoned it would be. Had a local firm quote for the same thing, £5,400 instead which was just a small difference in price! Everest say they fit the best and technically they do as they fit A rated windows. However my other quote also included the same spec A rated, steel reinforced windows and a composite front door of higher quality than Everest's.
Im really glad I looked elsewhere as these ridiculously high prices can in no way be justified.
The other thing is why can't they just give you a real price as opposed to a stupidly high one followed by several discounts? I know it's to make you feel like your getting a great deal, but really it's just a con designed to make you sign.0 -
Ford v BMW please dont make me laugh I am yet to see any example of their quality!, when I moved in here I ripped out all the everest windows and replaced them with quadruple glazed windows from Finland.
Far superior windows for a lot less than what Everest would have charged.0 -
I have been in double glazing for 20 years and agree that the glass is the most important thing to look at. Most double glazing systems are pretty much the same and it is the GLASS that makes the difference. I have worked for local companies and also SafestyleUK. If Everest are anything like Safestyle then I would give them a big swerve. I witnessed a salesman sell a bog standard back door ( fully glazed ) ,normally sold and fitted for around £800, to an old lady for £1900!! They really have no morals at all. When I had my interview with them I was told that ' we are a hard sell company and if an old granny wants to pay 5 grand for a door we will sell it to them!! '. I lasted 6 months and then moved on.Jupiter2012 wrote: »I have had 35 years in the window business and 1st came across Everest in 1980, when I started work for Anglian home improvements. At that time Everest was part of Rio Tinto group, the largest producers of Aluminium in the world. Rio Tinto sold the company and the company has changed hands several times over the past 32 years and has now been acquired by the current management team. the product has changed over the years as each company sale brought in new window products. I know lots of Everest sales guys who uised to earn 25% commission from their door canvassing/sales activities, all of which is reflected in the price of the products.
Customers now have governemnt introduced window energy ratings, which clearly show the performance of the window. My advice, forget the 50% offers go for highest energy performance. Dont just settle for Grade A, some windows have Grade A rating + 8. the window has the potential to collect and trap heat in your home.
So tell the offers to BOGOF and look at energy performance Grade A +++++0 -

Everest fit the same as fred shed. What tosh obviously someone who cant stand to be asked to pay more for quality. Iv had the miss fortune to have the delight in fitting a wide range of conservatories and there's a light years difference between the brands.!
Iv got my kitchen fitted in my conservatory I don't even get a problem with condensation. I wouldn't ask everest to put my base in cause they take the !!!! there.A door seal had a small anoying bump in it complained about it three years after installation. Four days later they were out and replaced it id like to see these other companies do that. It's like getting blood out of a stone.0 -
Although this is an old thread, I'd like to make several points:
- Everest are way better than anyone else and streets ahead re. technology used.
- they give lifetime guarantees which no-one else does
- if you can't afford their products, stop whingeing and go and buy the cheap rubbish - there's plenty out there.0 -

I, for one, am totally convinced by a brand new user who registered solely to sing the praises of one company.0 -

You cynic.
Roughshod was simply browsing old posts on here and it's sheer coincidence that they happened upon one that was last updated 14 months ago and which was hidden in the deepest recesses of the MSE forums.0
