Congrats URG on the safe arrival of your little boy. I'm still waiting the arrival of my granddaughter who is due this week but some people are now saying my DIL looks like she is carrying a boy, if this is the case I just hope he likes his pink bedroom. :)x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000

Hello
Just wrote a really long post but lost it!!!!!!! I'll need to type fast as DS is stirring and may need tending to.
It's been a long time since I last posted. So much has happened and to be honest it's hard to post.
A few days after DS was born my dad died. He deteriorated very quickly and was suffering so I do feel releived that he is not suffering anymore. I also take comfort that dad got to see DS before he died - it was really special to me. I miss my Dad terribly and am so sad that he has gone. So much has happened since then and I can't really talk about it here. I am sure you will understand - I will focus on MSE related stuff here.
I am receiving emotional support - the midwives arranged it for me during my pregnancy as I was dealing with so much crap and I was worried about it would affect the baby. Thankfully he has come out unscathed however life has been very difficult so the support carries on.
My son is my joy - he is gorgeous and a lovely baby. He hasn't been very difficult and makes me smile every day. I love being his mum - I just wish my dad was around to enjoy him too.
As for money -I will soon be on statutory maternity pay only and it will be a struggle. DH has thankfully secured another contract but it is temporary and part-time so our income will be far less than I had expected. I haven't been able to save as I had originally planned so we will have to really be careful and
rely on funds that were meant to replenish savings that we had borrowed from to buy our car.
OUr boiler has been playing up and the engineer has ordered a new part. If it doesn't work we will have to look at getting a new boiler as ours is coming towards the end of it's life. I do have some funds in the emergency fund but I really hope that we can make the boiler stretch out a bit longer.
I'm really going to have to get back on the MSE bandwagon - mealplanning, spending diaries, voucher codes, free and cheap activies for baby and I. I think i will start a new diary for this new phase in my lift.
Right - need to go to bed soon - will be getting up in no time for another feed. But before I go - here is tomorrow's list:
- wash nappies (I have been using cloth nappies)
- go to breasfeeding support group - need some help with DS latch again
- buy Lakeland heated airer - using gift money from earlier this year. (Seems decadant but we have lots of washing now and with the heating on the blink we need to have alternative ways of keeping up with the laundry)
- research Christmas and birthday gifts for neices and nephews.
- cancel tastecard unless they offer and excellent retention deal.
- buy vests using gift card
I also wanted to say goodbye to Taxi on this thread. I was always so touched by her warmth and her posts. I will miss her. I am releived to know she isn't suffering anymore but so sad for her family and friends.
Au revoir for now.

Just wanted to give you a huge hug love - an enormous one.
After which, I'm looking forward to hearing about your everyday adventures to enjoy this new phase.
