Thanks both of you I am actually sure its a mistake they think they are giving me £5K. I want to work my notice as I have at lot of stuff on I really want to finish and hand over properly I will still be loyal to the company as I intend to stay within the same sector.

I have done my own calculations now to take to them and this is what it looks like:

Statutory Redundancy £3,375.00 7.5 weeks x £450

Contractual notice £4,749.84 7 w x £678.55 ( my weekly salary)

Total £8,124.84

To be added 4 days leave entitlement £542.84 (£678.55/5 x 4 days)

Total incl leave £8,667.68

Statutory entitlement Vounlary Offer £10,000

Difference £1,332.32 = just under two weeks full pay.

As for the holiday pay if I do work my notice I need two days off so will actually only get 1/2 of that but they might not be aware of that yet.

Going to ask my boss if she has seen the figures and see what she says then book a meeting with them at HQ Tue, Weds or Thurs and negotiate. If they pay my full wages for the next 7 weeks then give me £10K I shall be happy enough. If this is all they offer well I could do some harm to them in the market but I am sure it wont come to this.

Remember they gave everybody in the entire company 3% off their annual salary in December so my offer is crap really.

Going to phone my boss in 1 hours, she is seeing the big boss today according to her calendar so hopefully she can put a word in for me. I also want her to get a time for the 3 of us to sit down at HQ and discuss this this week.

Got a nice day lined up, very local meeting in a coffe shop (10min) away, then 45 min to the next one, then popping in to a friends for a bit before my final drive of 1 hour to have a business lunch. Then drive back while dialing in for our weekly conference call.

Other news I spoke to FIL (it would have been MIL's birthday yesterday) he is keen for me to work at the business full time and run it if we dont sell it. They are doing well at the moment so need help, my friend (with the ancient boyfriend) would be perfect for that job. I only saw her yesterday but she did not answer last night. I hope she will be pleased.

Also need to decide if I am buying my friends car (the one who is moving abroad). Its £500 cheaper than if I got it dealer/private sale. Low millage, well looked after and for £3000 I get an 08 reg Corsa with 36,000 on the clock. It will then do me until I get a job and can have a Fiat500 Oh I really like them.

Will update you when I have spoken to boss in 55 min.

Had the conversation my boss knew the figures apparently HR worked them out but she will see what she can find out when she meets bigger boss at lunch time. She did ask is this what you are leaning toward and I said I was the weakest link so I may not get one of the 4 posts.

She was basically non committal but I will know more later on.

My boss has said she can see my concern and have raised it with her boss, don't think they can meet with me until Thursday so this drags on.

Still waiting to find out if I am meeting bosses today, or Tursday at HQ. I am now 100% certain I want to leave really not nice when your boss tells you during the conference all yesterday how delighted she is about appointing someone in a job like the new ones they are offering us. So you get rid of one of us to employ someone else like it.

To further add to insult it's already out in our market place that we are restructuring and questions were asked if we were loosing our jobs. That has most certainly been leaked from a lower grade manager who is not affected by this. I am disgusted at him so unprofessional and potentially damaging for their sales.

Anyway, found two jobs locally (at the same place) I quite fancy. Pay is just so low compared to what I am on but I know it's a decent place and its permanent not contact. One is for 30 hours one is 20 hours and I am going to ask for the job spec for both. I am not sure how many candidates they will get as its quite specific that you have to have recent experience within that field which I have but it's 15 years ago however I do have indirect experience ask have worked with them for 7 years as a customer of ours.

Closing day 1st March interview 8th March and its 30 hours with one day 4.30pm to 7pm so will almost feel like a day off a week.

Going to buy my friends car, will just sort out how to pick it up.

Hate being in this limbo if only they would make me a decent offer and agree to see me. This is from a company who has win numerous accolades for being such a good employer.

Just got a txt from my boss meeting big boss tomorrow at 9am, will have to set off for HQ today. At least something is happening.

Sadly not a word on the figures, my boss and rest of team were fine and nice to me but big boss didn't even say hello to me when he came in.

He has given me 30 min of his time tomorrow so that's when I have to state my claim.

I cannot stay I would hate e new job so much I know it. Got these through for the other two jobs pay is so low but one is 20 hours and one is 30 hours and both permanent. 20 hours I should have a chance at the other would be nice but might be a step too high to aim right now.

Going out for dinner with the only true friend I have at the company really appreciate her seeing me tonight.

Tell you what thank god I am MF it gives me the option to stuff the new job such a relief.

Hope you all enjoy your pancakes tonight I shall try to sneak an update whilst at work tomorrow if not it will be tomorrow night.

Tall Girl, I'm a firm believer in what goes around, comes around and all the people that are being very smug at the moment will get their comeuppance!!
If the company have done it to you, it will do it to them further down the line!!
Take a lower paid job at first, when you have a job it is much easier to find another...

Thanks for the good wishes meeting went quite well. I stated I had a problem with the travelling and they said it may not be every week and if at was the only reason I didn't want to apply I should think again. Of course it isn't so I stated the other stronger candidates than me and they admitted it was hard as we were all good people but they did need new skills and types of people so that kind of made my mind up. I also got the impression it is a rushed job and hasn't been well thought out.

I said about the low offer was its mistake and he said well it was kind of the statutory offer. He said if oyu would work your notice and help out its a difference matter than statutory and i said of course i would. I would even work adhoc for them if they need it in my geographical location. He is unsure what to offer me as he doesn't know what the others do but he would get back to me with something this afternoon. I said I would keep my silence for now.

Pretty happy with this actually so will wait and see.

Still need to sort getting my friends car down from Liverpool to the Suth Coast. she leaves Thursday and wants to hand it over now but I don't need it until April.

Look forward to getting home soon.
