Or the loft. I might have known he'd do it to you again. I know he is still young, but he flits from one thing to another and probably will for a long time yet, until he learns to take responsibility. Hopefully your girls, ex or maybe Molly's daughter may be able to come and help you get your home sorted once and for all. The sooner the better.

I understood that Mooloo's DS had got agreement from the Housing to live with his sister in her flat? Or did I dream that?

And I don't think the girls would be able to help much apart from supervised directed shifting of boxes, as organisation isn't really one of the things they are good at, if Mooloo's recent post about finding baby clothes from the grandsons is an indicator.
  • Agreed Floss, he is moving into his sisters flat. Unfortunately Mooloo had to move all of her sewing things out of the room for her son to be able to move in.
I'm sure the girls would be of use to help to move boxes etc for Mooloo as she'll be able to tell them what to do with it all. As far as I am aware, there aren't any physical issues which would prevent them from helping Mooloo out.

When I get back from holiday. I will try to "organise" DS to take his stuff to his sisters.
Its the sister with the house that he is allowed to stay with. fingers crossed. She has plenty of space (if she put away the washing mountain!) so all his stuff can go over there.

I love the look of the "studio" link. however looking at that has made me realise that I would probably need more like a wall of those cupboards. But I do have some Bookcases in the cupboard under the stairs, which were supposed to be for my sewing when we first moved here, but ended up with god knows what on them. But there is so much infront of them that its not possible to get into the cupboard. So I think I will have to start in there!.
I have a "stanley" toolbox on wheels, where I used to keep all of my notions etc. That was where the name tapes were when I first got them. But for some reason, called my disorganisation I didnt put them back. (Cos its in the cupboard under the stairs) then i thought i had put them in the sideboard drawers but they are not there so heavens knows where i moved them too.
Looking at the things that I already have, it seems to me that I could actually make a decent enough Studio space with some effort.
Getting the twins to help is harder then it should be. They are not very co-ordinated, (they have dyspraxia), and tend to be more trouble then help. Dropsy and the like. Things get broken too easily. But Biggest of Mooloo and DS are OK. I will commandeer their help when I am back.
I love the idea of the cards/bolts of fabrics. I could do that I am sure. Even if its cutting up boxes to make the cards in the middle. It certainly would make things easier then raking through all the storage boxes looking for inspiration etc.
Will save me a fortune if I could get organised and not buy things not realising that I still have some left from a previous project lurking!.

I had a bit of a row with twin1 yesterday. When I got there to collect twin2 there were some shopping trolleys outside the block of flats. I just knew it was her!, and I asked her why they were still there. She said cos her sister wouldnt help her take them back. I saw red, She has been warned by the housing that they had to be moved as well.!! So in my adrenalin rush, I stormed down the stairs, grabbed a trolley and route marched it back to the shops. Twin2 followed with the other one!. DS walked out on twin1 and told her a few home choice words etc. So today, I am not in the mood to take DGD to her Mum. I am going to take her to twin2's and ring Mum up and tell her if she wants to see her daughter she will have to walk up to her sisters!. (Twin1's bath is full of dirty dishes, and they were there last week when I went around, so I am not happy with the state of the place and will not leave DGD there until she has tidied up.!). Her carers do not seem to have started, yet again. So I will need to chase the Social Worker about that one as well.
Twin2's is a lot tidier after the blitz the other week, (compaired), and with DS there its a bit better. Also its got less hazzards and DGD will get to the near by park if she goes there.
I have councilling today. A time to let of steam!
Only 2 days left now before my funds arrive, and my holiday. Yipee. I can relax and enjoy the time away now.
Time I got dressed I have been sitting on the laptop for ages and ages this morning. DGD has just gone up to see DS. (He is here as the petrol mower needed to be brought back yesterday. Hopefully he will be here tonight, so that he can cut the lawn. We didnt get it done yesterday as there was no petrol. We will get that today.).

    Mooloo,
Can you take pictures and measure the really big amounts of fabric, maybe cut a small sample of it and leave the bigger bits in the loft, moving the smaller bits downstairs, til you get that organised first? Small steps and all that...
It aint over til I've done singing....

I think it might be a good idea, to have an index file of the fabrics, with the samples and measurements on it. Would take a lot of work, but I suppose its got to be worth it.
Its not so easy to store the clothing that I use for fabric, but a picture etc would be a good way around it.:D

The car's MOT is due today. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will pass. DS is going to keep DGD amused while I take it.
This afternoon its finish packing and then we are off to Portugal.
    Back on the 6th! Yipee
2 weeks of sunshine, sea and sand. Swimming pools and someone else cooking!. (I like the last bit the best!).

    A brief foray from lurkdom:

Good Luck with your car's MOT, Mooloo, and I hope you and DGD have a wonderful holiday. :D

Btw, if you're concerned about DGD's behaviour at times - my DS3 used to be knicknamed "Tassie Devil" until a friend gave me this tip - try and note whether her behaviour gets worse after eating/drinking very 'processed' food; fizzy drinks [eg. the one sponsoring the Olympics] MacNasty takeaways, supermarket instant meals or stuff like tinned spaggy shapes..

If you reach the same conclusion I did, you might find it useful to get a bigger freezer and batch-cook more good food for times when you're not up to making dinner. One of those machines that makes plain water fizzy might also come in handy, then it can be mixed with pure fruit juice rather than buying those huge bottles of sugar and additives. DS3 learned to enjoy fruit and nuts as 'free any-time munchies' and we made our own biscuits - starting his love of cooking that his GF now really appreciates!
(Oh yes, and it worked - DS3's behaviour improved remarkably).

Dont look at the time! I cannot sleep.
The car Failed its MOT, and had to have some work done on it and then retested. It set me back £200. The credit card came in handy.
I also lost most of the morning, and part of the afternoon waiting at the garage for the parts to be delivered and fitted. Thank god it was possible to do.
Alas I have logged into my banking just now, and there is not any sign of any money in from the SS.
I am rather fed up. This will not be good. If they have issued a cheque I will not be able to have use of it until 3 weeks away now. As it usually takes at least a week for the bank to clear funds paid in by cheque and I wont be able to pay it in until I get back.
I have sent an email to the Social Worker, and to the person who told me they had authorised the payements. But I got an automatic reply back saying that they were on leave this week, until the 2nd. Bank holiday stuff I suppose. So nothing will be done about it, unless there is a second run on the payements today. But I will not hold my breathe. It looks like the Credit card will have to be used. As it was for the MOT.

I think that I will monitor the intake again of DGD's foods. I dont usually buy her Pop. But she does drink a lot of squash. Most home food at home is home made, but she is eating cheeses and hams that are processed. And the McD's have been a bit more often of late.
I worry mostly about the amount of sweets that she ends up with, as both her mum and the babysitter are prone to buying her sweets so thats about 4 or 5 times a week. Not good. Dispite telling them to not buy her sweets it happens.
I will have to monitor it a bit better.
She will not be able to take Nuts to school in pack up, as there is someone there with a nut allergy, and we were not allowed to take them to the nursery etc. or chocolate spread that sort of thing.

Right I am going to go back up to bed and see if I can get another hour or so. But my hip is playing me up quite a lot. I obviously did too much yesterday wth the driving and the packing etc. Not the best of starts.

Oh well. It can only get better!.
I will try to have a good holiday and worry about the CC when I get back. If I can.

I am sorry that the money is not in your account - could you go and sit at SS office and not move until you have some money?

I hope you still manage to have a good holiday despite this.

We have problems with relative (who lives with us) giving DD - 9 - sweets in secret and then her hiding the packets - god I was annoyed I can tell you.

I warned them and warned them and it wasn't until we went to the dentist and she was told she needed a filling (at 9 ) did I go extra mad and DD ended up in tears.

So now she has sweets once a week and relative asks me before he gives her any. My mum did not take it very well (as they stay at hers sometimes) but she has been really good and making sure DD does not have sweets as usually she has already had them that weekend.

Maybe the thought of a filling will be enough - I made sure I told DD how much it would hurt etc :rotfl:
And to top it all I paid £65 so she could have a white filling so her teeth still look perfect (as I told the dentist I don't want to have an argument with DD at 16 over a grey filling runing her looks:rotfl:)
