Going to see if I can reduce phone, hairdresser and get budget tightened with OH, tv licence etc.

Car is going for service next wednesday, was panicking about this but have managed to work out, service is £220. I have £100 in paypal from ebay sales and £168 from council tax this month, so can easily cover service without getting into any more debt and still have a wee bit left over for throwing at the debt :D

Just need to really knuckle down and get these debts sorted!!

Big spend day today!! Did big grocery shop, spent £113.53 and £35 in Butchers. So spent way over grocery budget but store cupboards are rammed and bought big items like washing powder, stain remover etc that will last for 3 or 4 months and lots of loo rolls as on special offer so think that should be ok. The £35 in the butchers was with a 10% discount and got 1 chicken, 12 sausages, 4 pork belly slices, 8 rashers bacon, 1 pork joint, 2 gammon steaks and 6 eggs so think did well there and will last for ages so very pleased.

Spent afternoon making soup, have made loads very cheap with stock made from giblets left over from christmas and padded out with pearl barley which tastes great, so very filling and seen as eat soup most days for work and much cheaper than tins too so very happy :D

Been quiet day apart from that, not much planned tomorrow apart from the usual ebaying so will be a no spend day.

Just updated signature and pleased with total. New total is £180,273 so a total of around £2k in a month of the gross, including interest applied on cards, but not mortgage so will have to account for that later but a huge drop in a month so really happy about this :D

OH out today at the football, not paying for ticket as free from a friend, but will be filling car up with fuel so will check budget when he does that later, he has taken some food with him so should only need to spend around £10 on the train. I am spending zilch today :D Relaxing watching the tennis this morning and then onto the dreaded ebay later!! Ebay is doing ok at the moment have 3 out of 7 that are selling only low bids but it all helps.

Have found lots of large items to sell including old stereo system, fold up bike and parents old hoover which nozzle doesnt work but the upright part is fine so waiting for next free listing to get these on and hope to make quite a bit out of these.

Paypal money withdrawn from recent ebay sales and that will pay for half of the car service :T

Tomorrow going to meet a friend for lunch so will be spending around £10 but have found a load of horse wormers that no longer need at the moment so am selling to her for 2/3rds of price, have 5 so should make quite a bit :)

Confessions for the day! A good and bad day :)

Carp day at work as stupid colleague having a go, really there is only me and I can only do so much, rightly peed me off so just want to leave sometimes  so that brought me onto a bad spend, £10 on the lottery, uploaded money to online account, spent £4 on tickets for next 2 weeks (keeping everything crossed here ;)) then used rest to put some on instant wins, total win £12! So cut my losses and withdrew back to bank so no more temptation so have 4 lottery tickets and £2 profit back to bank, total profit £6 :D Not bad for a angry moment spend. Not to do again in future so easily as will lose more than I can win!

Lunch out with friend was £12, but manged to sell her my wormers for £35 so £23 profit made and a lovely lunch :D

Payment to card of £70.04 for fuel OH filled up yesterday and one minimum payment of £62 sent to card.

Aiming for total no spend day tomorrow as Wednesday is car service time. Insurance is due soon so starting to look at quotes and looks like existing provider is still cheapest so be keen to see what their renewal statement comes in at.

Other DFW things, posted some ebay items, daily clicks, surveys and a few comps.

So all in all a good day :)

    Another day another dollar!

Definitely not a No spend day today as car gone in for service, should just be standard price as its only 2 years old and 20k on the clock, keeping everything crossed!

Yesterday was good and didnt spend a penny, have managed to accumulate 16 NSD in January :D This doesnt include direct debits, but everyday spending so really pleased with this.

Signed up to a couple of no spend offers on Quidco last night, these have tracked so good for these. Quidco has notified of a payment to me only £1.29 but it all helps.

Paypal £100 money arrived so that has been sent to a card as car service will have to go on a card later, but at least this will be half the payment.

There is enough in my general savings to pay for the car insurance outright at the end of February and then should be able to save enough to pay for the house and life insurance which are due in june.

Spending confessions :o Have spent £25.83 at lunchtime, this included bread roll, emergency chocolate for work and 12 birthday cards so have lots for next few months, still need to buy a few but most now sorted. Money spent was out of the cash from selling my wormers so no extra drawn out of the bank so still under budget :D

Have submitted expenses today £60.99, only £5 of this was actual spent money, rest if mileage claimed back as use private car, usually takes a few weeks to pay but a little bit extra to add to the pot :)

So £218.98 spent on car service  The £102 from paypal and lottery win has hit the account to so half covered, £1.29 arrived from quidco today and this has also been sent to the card.

I think I will have £86 budget surplus from the result of non council tax month, not as much as I would have hoped for but did overspend on groceris, but this will last a long time.

OH is working away next week Sunday to Thursday so grocery budget will definitely be stretched well as just me in the house, OH's general expenses should go down too.

OH is currently investigating a 0% balance transfer card to see if he can take some of his debts elsewhere as currently at 17.9%, fingers crossed.

The car has a problem wtih leaking coolant but this will be covered under warranty, phew, but it also needs 2 new tyres so next months free council tax money will got to this :T Always something but really trying to keep going, I will beat this darn debt sooner rather than later :D

hi baldybear - when I had all my credit cards last year to try and pay off I kept saying 'when that one is gone I will have £xxx and when that one is gone I will have £xxx' and at the time it felt like forever but its great to now be chucking it at the loan.

At least (hopefully) when car is sorted that should be it for a while on the car repairs front.

Getting a 0% will be a big help - hope he manages to get that. :)

LAM thanks for the comments, definitely thinking of that extra money each month spurs me on will be able to keep at least a minimum of 1 horse a month on that figure and still have some to spare :D

Been quoted £93 a tyre so my mission today is to try and get a better price!

£3 received from survey site so sitting in paypal, will withdraw after weekends ebay sales, paypal currently at £13. No bids on ebay this week but plenty of watchers so hope they are all just waiting last minute!

Car insurance due end of month and parents have said they will contribute £200 to this as my birthday present :D So really pleased with this which means I will have enough in my savings account for the life and buildings insurance without having to dip into money elsewhere :T

Sister wants to go to see a musical in London for her birthday and quite fancy that msyelf, so thinking if we each pay for our own ticket that can be our birthday present to each other and just get a very small wee gift.

May not be a NSD today as need to get some new work trousers but have £25 M&S vouchers so may pop in after work to see what I can find.
