Everything up in the loft for next year, trouble is the front room and hall look empty.
Had a bit of a cry today, doesn't feel like the pain killers are working . DH has been great and made me eat a sandwich at 4pm because I haven't been able to face food all day.
Our little doggy lodger has been collected and the house seems awfully quiet, he is such a lovely dog and doesn't leave my side when he is here.
I am proud to tell you that I have a new great niece she wasn't due until tomorrow

Lippy - Congrats to MIL, good to hear that 'ordinary people' are recognised. She has obviously worked very hard over the years and deserves it.
BB - Feel better soon and the baby is beautiful.
Evening All
Been fairly busy today, dyed my hair so I don't look so grey, cleaned the bathrooms (DDs was horrid) and visited 2 lots of friends. Cooked a lovely tea for DD and myself and wished DS2 a safe trip to Helsinki (He's off to stay with his GF for a week).
Need to pack a few bits and bobs as I am off down south tomorrow to do some visiting whilst I am still off work, hope the weather is ok as it's fairly rotten here. It's freezing too!
Good luck to those going back to school/work tomorrow, I will be thinking of you whilst I am travelling. Take care. XX0 -

Really cold here, no washing out as it would be on N7 before I was back in house...was shopping this morning and wind had a distinct 'snowy' feel to it....please no! I saw enough snow last year to last me for the rest of my life, however long that may be.
Lamb chops with mushrooms, baked potatoes and fried mixed veg, with some Christmas pudding afterwards....the C pudding I make is always a hit and miss affair, turned out really well this year, so OH and I are indulging, family don't seem to like it any more so don't force them!
Have decided that will be making blankets/bedspreads for all for next Christmas so have started with some wool I have in my stash....Sirdar 'Clic' but only have 400g, so am going to mix it with some white stuff I got from Lidl/Aldi....not sure if the colours will be good together so am just trying it to-night, have an idea that the Sirdar one is out of production.
Has been lovely to see some 'old' posters joining in for new year, would be nice if some of you stayed.
Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to newbies, stay safe

Evening all,
BB, baby is beautiful, bless her little heart.
Long day today, been awake and up out of bed since 4am, no point in staying and waking OH with my tossing and turning, not sure what's going on, only know that I need my sleep to function, no chance of snooze today though .
Having car problems, one thing after another for the last two months, its an old car, a Cougar, which I love, but it now appears it might be the altinator (sp), so more money, not sure how we are going to budget for this, but I need the car to get to work so money will be found somewhere...
I have taken down Christmas tree and decorations, it takes so much longer to take them down than put them up doesn't it? They are still sitting in hallway, waiting for boxes to be sealed before getting OH to put them in attic, that might have to wait until weekend as I need strong tape, but downstairs is now looking decidely tidier, I vacumned around and did a general tidy up, need to do better but that will just have to wait until weekend, 3 more washes done too and on dryer and rads, don't know where DS is getting the washing from! Dinner was leftover party food for OH and me, he also finished the trifle and remaining whipped cream, which give me back space in the fridge. Back to work tomorrow, so not looking forward to that....remaining pate and brown bread for lunch tomorrow, OH having pasta salad, with yougurt and fruit, cooked extra pasta so tomorrows lunch made too, just need to swish it up a bit, so good start anyway.
Just skimmed the thread, not retained any information really so hugs and high fives to anyone who needs or wants one.Cait, at long last signing on:rotfl:0 -
