Morning All,
Lie in for us this morning , as everyone is back to work and school tomorrow.
Also a lovely spring like morning here, I think it's probably quite chilly though.
Bramble don't stress about what to wear, I'm sure he wouldn't care about that.
Lippy Well done your MIL:j
Glitterkitty I had the same thing for breakfast, back on SW, just planning a walk shortly that takes in a couple of really big hills, kills me at the time but always feel good afterwards:D
Chilli and rice for us tonight. We have some ebaying to do and selling my mums motorised scooter so need to get on with that (realised she is not safe driving lol so has only used it twice)
We have been looking at house prices and think probably it would be more sensible to rent the house out, so need to understand the ins and outs of that, plus it means we don't have to wait for a sale.
Going to try and get DS3 to do some revsion today for physics but think he is still in Christmas holiday mode.
Will begin again on the jobs list tomorrow not too much to do but some things need to be done before we put it up for rental (will also have a valuation just in case)
Loved Sherlock Holmes last night, and caught up with the Downton Christmas special.
Anyway enough waffle, have a good day all J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning folks - I don't think I've posted in the OS section for a long time and certainly not on a daily thread, but I've been round and about for a little while, and lurking even longer.
I hope you don't mind me popping in to join you - I've wanted to be a proper OS kinda gal for years, and I think this could be the year that I manage it. I have had depression for many a year, which is mainly controlled, but those of you who are unfortunate enough to have encountered it, will know what I mean when I say that I just haven't seen the mess etc around me. About a week before Christmas, as if by magic, it just appeared before my eyes and I couldn't believe it. What had I been doing for the past 5 years (at least). So I dug out all sorts of stuff from the back of the cleaning cupboard (including the bicarb and vinegar) ad set to work. And I'm still going.
Yesterday I used the steam cleaner that I've had for years to deep clean the kitchen cupboard doors, tiles (wall and floor) and round the skirting boards. Today I'm going to tackle the mouldy ensuite ceiling.
The bonus of having a clean kitchen is that I want to go in there to cook, so my "eat proper meals" resolution may also kick in.
Be back when I think I deserve a cup of tea.

Taplady - I take Zinc too and also have not succumbed. I cant take it at the moment as it interacts with my antibiotics so wonder if that might explain my lethargy.
Great news on your mum in law? What was she honoured for?
I swear by them!
It was Lippycow's MIL who got an MBE!
Hope you're soon feeling better xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
lippy congrats to your mil :j
bramble chickenss!!! get them! hasn't your OH worked on a chicken farm thingymabob before?
hmm I should get some zinc! Cold is in full force today and I have work all day, have been powering through the saturday papers this morning and it's getting very boring
Might go to the cinema with OH tonight but not sure tbh, feeling a bit brain dead.
We had about 200 chickens last year, but they were kept on our yard, and I didn't really have much to do with them, they were alot of hard work though and OH's grandparents couldn't really cope so they went to our friends chicken farm. Which is why i'd like 2 or 4 to keep in the garden, much more small scale and manageable!
I took pup on a 2.5 hour long walk, we are both muddy and tiredI think we walked about 9k.
Have had lasagna for lunch and am getting ready to sit in front of the telly this afternoon. OH has gone out so house to myselfyay.
Thanks Lou - I was thinking for using accessories for colour instead of wearing coloured clothing.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Hi
Lovely sunny day here, so I have hung some washing out. Back to work tomorrow, so I'm tidying up and also plan to do my monthly shop.
One of my sons came home from uni with a bug, when I went to B**ts to get him some drops I got a free package which had tissues, handgel, toothpaste and some Zinc tablets in it. I will pack them in his bag for when he goes back and hope he takes them. I know he's old enough to look after himself, but I still worry.

Hi everyone, afternoon already.
About an hour and a half from home now, on the M1, on the netbook and dongle. Just managed to catch up reading yesterday's thead, and today's. Still nice and bright with some sunshine about, just passing Donnington Park Services.
Glad most of you had a nice Xmas and NY. Just planning the rest of this week, and will empty the 'van when we get home, as it will be parked up until March now. Tomorow DH will take the tree down, I will do the do Xmas cards received list, and while he is in the loft putting the tree and decorations away, will get out the bags and other bits we have ready to go to Spain. I have some washing, and the weather is not looking promising for the next few days.
Will have a brunch for tea tonight, or even early afternoon as have only had breakfast so far. Freezer/Fridge use up for the rest of the week too.
Not much else to add, just feeling a tad tired, will get on with the blanket I am doing for DS & GF in colours match their lounge. It is a crocheted squares one, but making the squares about cushion cover size, so to minimize the joining. Would like to have it done for when we see them on Sunday, but will only have about 9 squares done by then at 1 a day, so wondering if that will be big enough or carrying on and making larger, have got 3.5 squares done now, better sign off here, and get the hook out.
Take care all and have a good day. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Many thanks for all the supportive comments. Happy to say the cake turned out well so pleased:T:T:TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hi Ladies,
Was up at a reasonable hour today as the builder called and woke me in order that he could come and quote for some pointing up. Hopefully he can start it this week which would be good. Once he's confirmed I can then get the fascia company out to quote for the gutters on the front and eventually we'll be water tight!
So bed is changed, WM cleaned and a hot wash run thorugh it before I do more washing, DW on a hot empty wash to clean it through and tidying done. Chickens fed and watered and fish cleaned out. Unfortunately we've found a slow leak so it looks like it's time to get a new tank for them. There's one on Gumtree so hopefully I shan't have to pay as much as I would buying new but even so, it's a cost I hadn't budgetted for. There's a market for old tanks as vivariiums so I can sell my old tank on meaning the £££ damage is lessened.
Everywhere is tidied and I'm about to tackle the windows (insides) after I've checked my Abel and Cole order is correct and then that's all of my Monday jobs completed. I shall then tackle the craft cupboard and sew some buttons back on to my quilt cover. I shall hopefully also get some bits listed on Gumtree.
QQ Ladies - when do you peg out? I've always peggeed out my washing in summer and stick everything on the radiators or clothes horse in winter but the relatively sunny days have been tempting me to peg out, despite the cold. What's your rule of thumb for drying outdoors? Do you peg oout as long as it isn't raining or damp, only above a certain temperature, only in summer etc?
Hugs to everyone that needs them and a big well done to Lipsys MIL.0 -

And I thought a 50 hour labour with DS was long!!!!
I wish I could get on my hands and knees to clean... but I really can't health-wise!
