Morning everyone, just getting over family celebrations as my old Mum in Law was awarded MBE in the honours list she is 81 and we are so proud of her, now back to clea.
:T:T how wonderful! well done to her - what an achievement!
Someone mentioned zinc supplements - I swear by mine - dont want to jinx myself but I've escaped all bugs this winter when they've been dropping like flies at work! I also take an odourless garlic capsule too - both are very good for your immune system. For those having repeat illnesses it might be worth a try.Do what you love :happyhear0 -

Hester - brilliant idea about the shoes. I counted 4 pairs back in this NYE and could only get to sleep when the last pair were safely back around 5.30 am:eek::eek::eek:
Just trying to summon up the energy to make the wretched cake - I have to get a better mindset as the cake will sink if not. I think my apathy is a reflection of my relationship with my mother, which is a great shame. I will continue to try hard as a mother to my own children so they dont feel the same way about me when they are older:(
I think I will find some lights for the conservatory :T:T:T
Have to admit that black dog is snapping at my heals today so really need to chase it away. I find this time of year difficult and have booked to go away on a retreat starting next Monday. I hope this will help xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Taplady - I take Zinc too and also have not succumbed. I cant take it at the moment as it interacts with my antibiotics so wonder if that might explain my lethargy.
Great news on your mum in law? What was she honoured for?I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Morning all!
I am the only one up, here. Need to start getting the boys back into their bedtime routine tonight for going back to school on Monday. It almost looks like spring outside my window this morning - very odd!
I have had my porridge in peace this morning, and will be putting the wm on, and a pot of soup too shortly. Its my nephew's 12th birthday today, so we are off there to visit after lunch - my sister and I had the three boys within three months of each other, and they are firm friends, although my DS1 is a bit more serious and less inclined to join in with the other two's nonsenseThen we are off to MIL's for the evening. I think we are going to the carnival tomorrow - not my idea of fun at all but the boys love it!
Still working on my blog, I need to use the laptop as it is becoming a bit tiresome on my phone, all this one fingered typing
Not much else to say today, except that I hope you are OK, Molly. You don't sound yourself at all xxx
Jackie xxx
Edit - I posted before seeing your posts on this page Molly, I hope your cake turns out ok, and some doggy cuddles chase the bd away. Glitterkitty - I had no idea Rammstein where still about! That brings back memories!
Oh yes they are still about! I saw them twice in 2010! This tour is called the 'Made in Germany' tour and it's set to be their greatest hits. Since they all hate each other, I think they will be splitting up after this. However there is talk of a new album so who knows?! I'm seeing them in Newcastle, then on to Manchester then Nottingham :-)
We are staying in Manchester travelodge and a premier inn in Nottingham, so very frugal and going for the cheapest! :-)
I've started my healthy eating resolution this morning - breakfast was 2 weetabix with sliced banana and a teaspoon of honey instead of sugar. Weetabix and bananas were only £1 each from Asda so im getting 6 breakfasts for 33.3p each!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -

Bright and beautiful here, I have the bedding on the line, and another 2 washes to do, I must admit its nice to have the trees down :T, makes the room look much tidier.
Shopping is being delivered today, so need to go through the fridge this morning, I know there is a bit of lemon tart lurking which needs chucking but I think thats it.

Took this snipet from the paper
Winifred , 81, from Burnley, has also been appointed an MBE for services to social housing.
She has worked as a volunteer for 40 years, including working with the the town's largest housing association for the past decade.
She said: "It's an honour but I don't think it's just for me. So many other people in this town have worked hard to make Burnley's houses liveable, especially my husband.0
