    Afternoon all!
Busy start to the day, home helps phoned mum to say auntie was lying on the bathroom floor and she had called an ambulance. She had had the runs (sorry, TMI!) and dont know if she had slipped in it, keeled over or what, or even when it happened. Mum went to A&E with her and I stayed to clean the house, after a trip to Mr A's to buy cleaning supplies. Has taken hours, what a mess, poor old soul! House still smells a bit despite doors and windows open, bleach, flash and air freshener! Now waiting for mum to phone from the hospital for a lift home, no doubt will go to visit tonight and see whats what........
back at chez jools will iron uniforms as back to work tomorrow, and OH will get his favourite monday dinner of a fry up!

Good afternoon and a very Happy New Year to you all.I am back home now and life will hopefully get back to normal for at least the next 7 months (until I go on my holidays )
lippy That's brilliant and well done to her.I think its fantastic when the 'unsung hero's' get awarded something There are thousands of folk who do so much to help others and never seem to get mentioned .

I have spent today descouring my sitting room The tree is down and all the decoratoins apart from the ones on the ceiling which my DD will do as I don't do climbing on chairs with my wonky legs :):)
Well I say the sitting room is clean it is apart from below my knees and above my head as I just can't climb or bend like I used to so DD will do the bits I can't get to bless her.

Two bags of rubbish awaiting the dustmen tomorrow ,mostly from where I have had a massive throw out of junk,(not even worth taking to CS)I did a line of washing and got it out and blowing so its now on the airer almost dry and my kitchen smells gorgeous of fresh air dried washing. Far better to smell than any air freshner.
I haven't been near a supermarket or food shop since Christmas Eve so I am quite pleased with myself and will be shopping from my own stores as much as I can this month.
Two of the boys are back to school tomorrow so I only have the two youngest to look after. Not a problem as if its not raining I will take them down to the local Country Park for a nice walk and let them let off some steam. If the weather is unkind I will sort out some 'crafty stuff' for them to make things with.
It will be nice to get back into a routine again.
Hope you all have a good evening I expect you will all be relaxing before the daily grind starts again tomorrow .But its a nice new year to look forward to what with the Olympics and the Queen's Jubilee and hopefully the economy will pick up for those of you who are having lean times
Take care everyone ,you're all precious to someone

    Good afternoon :)

Its been a nice day here, its rained everyday for at least a week so it was nice to see a watery sun this morning.DH & I decided to go for a walk, and drove to a local beauty spot that has loads of footpaths-it was absolute chaos .Everyone must have had the same idea,so we drove on to another, same again. We were all set for going home,in the end we just parked on a main road near a footpath and set off walking.Probably not as scenic as the other spots but we enjoyed it,and it was quiet too.Just wished I'd made a flask up,as we were going to treat ourselves to a hot choc at the first place-no mod cons like that tho,and we were a bit thirsty after.

I made some soup from all sorts of bits of veg,and lentil, and the gammon stock,we had that before we went.Eating more random bits for tea later :rotfl:

Well done to MIL Lippy :T
Glad the cake turned out well Molly.
Hugs to all in need xxx

    Afternoon all.

Not a lot going on here. Went into town as kids had £10 argos giftcards they wanted to spend, and I had something to take back to TK Maxx. Went today as it was free parking due to bank holiday, I really object to paying for parking!

DS has gone round to a mates house to finish his homework project, they had to make a working volcano! DD also had a project to do, I had to ban them from all electronic devices today in order to make sure they got it done! Unfortunately in the school holidays they can get rather lazy, so need something like that to focus their minds!! :rotfl:

Whilst DD was doing project I made a start on taking decorations down, although didn't get too far. Will get the rest done tomorrow, as we are all back to school/work on Wednesday, so need it done before then.

Dinner is going to be noodles, as DS got some chopsticks in his christmas stocking so wants to use them. I am doing a Cambridge Diet thing (different brand, same principle) so not eating real food at the moment. Day 4 today and finally not feeling hungry, but its not half boring. Have tried it before and it was actually the boredom that made me stop rather than hungry, but need to persevere this time, as have put a lot of weight on and need to shift a large amount, and want to do it fairly quickly. Will then move onto slimming world as really like that.

    Afternoon all

Been busy sorting out wardrobes today and washing, had soup for lunch and will be using up left overs for tea. Had to dash out this morning as DD1's partner had gone off early to work and locked her indoors and he had taken all the keys with him by mistake lol. Only problem is that when I went to start the car the battery was flat and as this is now the second time in a month, think may have to get a new battery now - will price them up tomorrow, luckily I live near enough to work to be able to walk, so no great rush.

Will take the decorations down in stages over next two days, need DD2 or her partner to get me the boxes down from the loft so they can be put away......Christmas seems to have gone really quickly this year.

Well have a good evening all.

    Afternoon all :)

So this morning saw to the 4 of us, plus my Dad popping to my new sparkly (okay, not at all sparkly, lol) allotment! We've pulled up the flowered weeds to stop them spreading any more seeds, blitzed through pulling up the root weeds like thistles and dandilions, and the boys found themselves a part rotted mini pumpkin and a pile of not very edible looking potatoes, lol. Oh and a marble, ha ha. But OH did say 'well that blew away the cobwebs' - yaaaay, he's not a gardener by a long shot, but even to have the company and an extra pair of eyes over the boys would be good occasionally :D

So, this afternoon wil be spent nosing for seeds, garlic bulbs and potatoes while the boys play with Christmas pressies and OH sleeps (he's about to start nights again)

I'll pop some jacket spuds in the oven soon for dinner

Have a good rest of your day all!

  • Good afternoon everyone.
Well DP got all the plastic tubs down for me so I could pack all of our decorations away. I do like everything to be packed neatly away and swear by my plastic tubs. Although they can be quite expensive at £7.00 each they are 80ltr tubs and come with a lid and find they keep everything safe and can be moved easily. Bit disappointed as the twinkly light we have had for ten years have finally bitten the bullet and we have had to throw them away and get new ones for this year. But I suppose they have been well looked after.
Unfortunately LB loved looking at the ‘twinkly lights’ as we call them so I don’t think taking them down is going to go very well lol.

Anyway after being new to this board and reading the threads DP and I have made a list together of the things we are now going to do:
    1. Use up all the branded cleaning products that we have in stock so that we can give star drops a go.
    2. I already meal plan and we both agree that this is going brilliantly so we are going to keep going.
    3. We already make from scratch and bake cakes and biscuits etc but will be going a little further and making our own puddings and going to give bread making a whirl.
    4. Growing our own herbs, fruit and vegetables.
Anyway this is as far as we have got with our list to now so its bath night for LB and leftovers from yesterday for DP and I.
I hope I haven’t bored anyone with my post and would just like to say thanks to everyone for their great posts… I love reading them.
