People not knowing how to use motorways properly.

Essentially you only care about yourself on the road and make up justifications of why your driving is bad as you try to pretend your helping other motorists out.
Your post is difficult to reply to as it doesn't match what I have said at all.
If you'd care to clarify your points I'll have another go at replying.
But essentially you advocate bullying on the road and I don't tolerate it so we will disagree fundamentally on that point forever.Don't grow up. Its a trap!
 Peace, love and labradors!0

Kind of answered your own question there, chief.0

the main point is if you pull over when safe to do so, you or no other drives will get flashed.
The careless and incosiderate driver not considering their surrounding is causing the first offence, thus if they took more care they would pull over when safe. If this happens they will not get flashed.
The roads will flow better and be safer for everyone. You would see far less of the so called bullys on the road.
YOur approach is when you hog the middle lane, to slow down and annoy the anti-middle lane hogging group more frustartion. Thus they will be later and more wound up, thus more likely to flash the next person in front.
one of the reason given flashing intimidates other drivers. While it may not imtimidate you as you slow down and wind them up. The next driver may get more flustered. Thus your original comments of trying to teach them a lesson has failed.
So if this fails your only doing it for your own benefit. Which makes it your trying to justify your bad driving behind helping others. WHich its not going to be doing.0

WHile he may have answered it in theory.
to go from lane 1 to 3 and back again. That is 4 lane changes. versus the middle lane driver who only has 1 lane to change.
Plus right hand lane may have traffic over taking the middle lane hogger already so he is not able to move over to lane 3 for a while so may get stuck behind that car for a while.
Plus the middle lane hogger should not be driving their in the first place.0

The highway code can be summarised in two simple steps:
 1. Don't drive like an idiot
 2. Anticipate and deal with the fact that everyone else drives like an idiot.
In other words, if someone is in Lane 2, and you want to pass them, just use lane 3. That's why there are 3 lanes.
If this is the biggest thing you have to worry about in your life, I'm very jealous of you.0

Can you quote where I said I drive in the middle lane?Don't grow up. Its a trap!

It also turns a 3 lane motorway into a 2 lane motorway, thereby reducing the road capacity by a third and increasing congestion.
Lane 2 is full of CLOGS, which means lane 3 becomes full with people overtaking them. Meanwhile lane 1 is much less busy, but unavailable unless people want to resort to undertaking. The M3 near me is often like this on a weekend.0

Wow, so many people on this thread need to get off their high horses.
I agree with the OP in that middle-lane drivers are irritating as hell. I use the A1(M) to get to work and the 'keep to the left' rule apply up here! I just undertake (before the smug brigade jump on my back, I KNOW it's not the right way to deal with the situation, but I'm not being held up by people who can't drive properly). I don't agree with being flashed at, I just take my time when I move out the way, but it's hardly bullying for gods sake. If we're going to label every single impolite act then we'll all be bullies. Some of the pathetic little comments about how to OP should 'retake their driving test' or even CALLING the OP a bully could be 'bullying.' I really do think some people need to lighten up and contribute to a discussion without resorting to personal comments. Or am I being a 'bully' now?0

It doesn't happen to me often but when it does I NEVER move over. if I do then I am encouraging that person to bully the next person and the next and the next.
 .
I take this as you do drive in the middle lane some times when you could pull over into the left hand lane. If challanged about it and when your not in rush your slow down even more if some one lets you know its happening.
Plus you have been sticking up for the practise as well through the thread.0
