How exciting!Is it a kitchen bin or for somewhere else?!
Can hear Poppy straining at them moment on the floor, she hasn't done a poo now for 2 days, think I'm going to need a peg for my nose, rubber gloves and some industrial cleaner!! :eek: Wish me luck, if you don't see me for a few days I've probably been recovering after another poo from hell!!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Afternoon ladies - I'm like this ---> :j:D and a little bit
(but the happy type) as I went to breastfeeding group this afternoon and we've had a breakthrough! Jonathan was checked for a tongue and lip tie, but she thinks his tongue etc is pretty clear but she said to get the GP to check again when he has his 6 week check in 3 week's time. The health visitor and peer support workers watched as I tried to get Jonathan to latch, and at first, he was doing his normal angry crying etc. My boobs were quite engorged, so I hand expressed some milk off in the loos whilst the health visitor held J. Then I came back, tried him again and no luck. So I gave him a bit of expressed milk from the bottle I had with me so he wasn't starving. Then we tried again, and .... he did it!! He latched and stayed on for a good 10 minutes, had a burp and then he went back on until he was feeding whilst he was asleep. I cried as I was so happy, my friend from baby group from Monday cried, the peer support worker and the health visitor all nearly cried too.
We've only done it with one side (super boob / left side) at the moment and I'm going to keep trying at home, doing the skin to skin etc, but fingers crossed, now he'd done it once, he'll be able to do it again. Think the cranio osteopathy may have helped a bit too, as his poorly arm has been a lot more mobile today. :beer:

Aww fab news sexymouse, I remember the first time Poppy latched on, I was so emotional so I can relate! I hope things start to fall into place for you now. Really happy for you!
Right can't put this nappy off anymore, I can smell it wafting over and the dogs have come in to investigate the smell!! :rotfl::heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

lol at the dogs investigating jannine!
Going to try to do what they suggested, and sit around with no top on holding Jonathan as much as possible now so he has free access to food whenever he wants it. He may even give it a go with snack boob if I persist.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Well Done Sexy Mouse, and baby too
I'm so pleased for you, it sounded so much like our breast feeding journey and I was silently cheering you both on from the sidelines. :j Fingers crossed he will manage it again. xxx

Fantastic news, sm. Hopefully you'll both be getting your confidence. Don't worry if you can't get him to latch again for a few feeds - you've done it once so you know it can happen. Just keep trying every feed for a minute or two. It will get easier, I promise. You did right to express a bit - when your boobs are really engorged they find it difficult to latch, particularly when they're small. Kitchen. I'd only had the previous one for a few years but the catch stopped working so the lid wouldn't stay shut. I've splashed out and bought a brabantia for twice the price. I'm sorry... this is really dull, isn't it? I'm boring myself."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

My mum has a brabantia...its the one that opens itself, is that yours?! I love a bit of dull kitchen bin chat! XLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

How can it open itself? How does it know when it needs to...? Spooky."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
