I won a cardy for Noah yesterday but I was selling stuff today if that's what you mean? The stuff I sold went for £145.37 altogether :D shame I've got to pay it straight to a credit card!! Really trying hard to clear our debt now. :(

I sold my old IPhone, and some of Noah's clothes that don't fit him and some of the boys old toys.

We have just under £4000 to clear which isn't as much as some people but still I hate it hanging over us. It's all on a 0% credit card though so trying to clear it before the 0% runs out.

I bought Noah s Halloween outfit in asda tonight :D it's a baby grow with a matching bib. So cute. I can't wait to dress him up and take photos!!

Elelyn - we don't have much experience in bottle feeding as we're only 10 wks old but I can say that for us it was pretty much guesswork as to how much he should eat. I trusted my instincts and when he was weighed he was doing well. I hope that once you have your baby weighed you'll also find out your instincts were right. Our little man also did the grunting and groaning noises you describe and they always meant he was hungry. Now that he's older he stopped grunting and started crying when you take the bottle away :/

We had to start bottle feeding when our boy got dehydrated and ended at the hospital (Special Care Baby Unit). There we were "taught" the basics of bottle feeding and one of the first things they told us was that you can't overfeed a bottle fed baby as they will tell you when they've had enough. Another thing they told us was not to get him into the habit of snacking, i.e. giving little top ups between feeds. They also said that the feeding time shouldn't be longer than ca 30 mins - so if he was drinking really slowly and kept falling asleep we were to stop trying after half an hour as that meant he wasn't hungry.

Now we go by whatever the formula box says he should be having, with maybe an extra oz every now and then, i.e. on a hot day. At 4 weeks I think we were feeding him 5 oz every 4 hours with an occasional 6 oz bottle if he seemed hungry/thirsty. But our boy is on 75th percentile so a big boy and possibly needed more to eat more than an average 4 wk old.

ETA: Re waking up at night. I think leaving the baby sleeping if they don't wake up won't hurt them so it's up to you if you want to get him up to feed or let him sleep. I have chosen to wake my boy up as I am a bit paranoid about under feeding after what we've been through when he got dehydrated. Also, to make sure the baby gets enough fluid over 24 hrs you'd need to increase his bottle size during the day so he could sleep longer at night and my gut feeling was that it's better to feed him smaller portions but more often even though it meant less sleep for us.

  • Hello all :T

I'm hoping to move over to this thread soon. Am 40 weeks and one day today, so hopefully not too long.

Quick question for you - have any of you used a Belly Bandit or Post Pregnancy girdle to get your figure back after birth? Are they worth buying? Am watching a few on eBay at the minute and struggling to know which size to buy. Is it the size you are or the size you want to be?

    Hi Ladies,

Hope all are well, seems like quite a lot of poorly babies and tired mums on here at the moment.

I've had an eventful morning so far, woke up and I noticed Poppy'a hands and feet were looking very swollen. Was quite worried as she is on diuretics for her heart problems and I know they can have this side effect. Had an emergency appointment with our GP (what a nightmare that was to arrange!) Anyway GP was quite worried and contacted our Consultant whilst I was there and I'm just waiting for him to call me to tell me what I should do. I have a feeling he will want to see her at the hospital today. She is fine in her self, but she has had edema quite bad when she was in hospital and it normally required medication so we will see.

Anyway better do a quick clean around in case I have to go back out again.

Got my nearly new sale tomorrow and I have stuff everywhere that needs pricing up and sorting out!

    Take care.
