Big congratulations Dizzi!
Katie, Mothercare and Boots sell 'medicine dummies' for babies - might be worth considering if the spoon is a struggle? You just put the Calpol in and then they suck on it like a normal dummy - worked well for us.
Lovely weather here today - went to the park with LO, and also went to look at another nursery just to be able to compare with the one we already have a place at. The one we viewed today is more convenient location-wise, but that turned out to be its ONLY selling point; it was a definite no-no!
Have ordered weaning books - I know I have another 2-3 months yet, but I'm feeling pretty clueless so thought I'd better start educating myself0 -
Does anyone have a snoozeshade or shade a babe for their pram? I want to get one for when LO starts facing forwards (for naps + shade - at the moment I'm using a muslin and pegs) and can't decide which one to buy. The snoozeshade seems better for complete darkness (LO is of the curious kind and tends not to sleep if there's stuff to look at), but at the same time I'm not sure about completely shutting her off from the world!... Am leaning towards shade a babe at the moment - if anyone has one I'd love to know how nap-friendly it is!?...0

Hello
Wow Dizzi - congrats!!! I was actually thinking the other day I wonder who will be first to fall preggo on the newborn thread! At least you have all the big baby items already
Nutella - I don't have one I'm afraid. On holiday we used a sarong and pegs as well as a parasol. I did see a few people with the shade a babe thing and it did look good.
Had a lovely afternoon with my mumwe also popped to see a family friend who knits for Aiden, she was desperate to hold him but he just wanted to explore her floor lol.
Aiden must weigh about 19lbs now lol...I bet he would be huge next to some of the other babies.
He tried mango tonight for the first time and he loved it. Not sure what to try tomorow....
Glad jabs went well for those who had them. Aiden has had calpol a few times nowis that really bad?! He really seems to struggle with his teeth so he has sometimes had it before bedtime.
Its so muggy here, hoping it cools down for bedtime!

Hi clarissa
My baby suffered badly with colic. It started from day 3 and the midwives didbt believe us till she was here late one afternoon and saw how he was getting at that time of day.
Best thing we found was dentinox which we added to feeds and it removes the bubbles of air. White noise seemed to help too, hoover or hair dryer worked well. It did improve from week 9 and had gone completely by week.12. It is hard though,pm me if you need to talk xxLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Morning!
What does everyone have planned today? I've got a busy day, with George being out of sorts yesterday I didn't get hardly anything done - my dads coming this fternoon and the place is a tip and I didn't get the pie made for tea like I'd planned. Just got back from sainsburys now and G is asleep so going to rush round and tidy while he's snoozing. He seems much better today, had a complete fit at bedtime screaming and being sick but once he went to sleep he only woke up once. Hopefully that's the end of it anyway.
Enjoy the sun!Newborn thread member

Morning all
Hope everyone had a good night. LO slept from 9pm until 4am, had a feed and then slept until 8am! :j
Sammie, that's so annoying re. neighbour's dog - as if being kept awake by a baby isn't enough!
Katie, glad George is feeling better, and hope the red mark has disappeared too?... Hope he sleeps long enough for you to get everything done!
Sunshine, we have this blind and it's pretty good: www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80130663/#/90192250
Turtle, how was mum & baby group yesterday?
Nothing major planned for today, waiting in for a delivery at the moment, so hope it comes this morning as the weather is lovely and I need to go to Sainsbury's.
Have a good day all - hope the weather is as nice where you are x0
