    Morning all,

Sadie was up at 12.30, 5 and then 7 this morning so not to bad by recent standards.

Her hands are always cold too but at the minute both are shoved into her mouth so she seems to be warming them up herself. Ha!

Hope everyone has a good day. xx
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...

Morning ladies, (hugs) for you had lame nights. I find that my LO goes through phases of good and bad nights and we've just got into a good phase so pretty sure it'll go bad again soon :-(. We had 10 dream feed then woke at 3.30 for feed then asleep till about 5.30 but stayed quiet drifting in and out of sleep till 6.45.

We're on day 2 of a spoonful of baby rice so hope he takes it as well as last time.

Hope you all manage a good day x

We have had some sad news here :-( a girl i did my nct course with committed sucide just before xmas. Her little boy is only a month older than jacob. Just wanted to say to all the new mums that if youre feeling down or need help then to ask your friends and family to help. Even just having someone to talk to is a great help.

    Hope everyone is ok

yes as smlsave has said please talk to someone if your feeling down, it does get better there is always a solution, it just sometimes takes a little longer to find it

Oh smlsave that is so very, very sad. What awful news for you. That poor little baby never knowing his Mummy. Breaks my heart.

Well despite Jacob having his jabs, he slept 10-7.30 so normal night really. But why is it I can't sleep all night any more? During pregnancy I got used to interupted sleep and I can't seem to go back to sleeping through when Jacob does *sigh*
Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!
  • Oh thats awful news SmlSave :( that poor girl and her poor baby :(

If anyone is feeling low, please speak to someone, there is help out there. Even if you just say to us on here, its important to share it.

Kira - good luck today :)

Missymoo - glad to hear you had a better night!

Jenjade - hope you and OH get chance to have a good chat and get something sorted. Fab news on the jeans too!

Noises - Finn makes noises all night, he's just chatting! He rolls around alot which makes his bottom very active - if I wasn't so tired it would be funny!

Wind - another vote for gripe water, fab stuff, works really quickly.

Finn's hands are always freezing in the night, because he sucks on them until he falls asleep and because they're wet then they just get cold. If I tried to cover them up we'd have all sorts of trouble so he just gets cold hands! They soon warm up again.

Thanks for all the advice yesterday :)! Night two of the bath feed bed routine was much more successful, bath at 8pm, good long feed afterwards, into his cot sleepy but not asleep, chewed on his hands and chatted for about 20mins and fell asleep by himself at about 9.30pm :D

Unfortunately he still woke up at midnight, 3am, 4.30am and 6.30am but I'm clinging to the positive that we've managed a good bedtime! Now just to try to get him to sleep longer! Bless him though, he's shattered now and has just crashed out in his chair!

For those of you who have started introducing solids, what age were your babies when you started?

    Oh, ETA - I'm in Cornwall :D

Jenjade get some nipple shields before you get too sore! Hope you and OH get a few things sorted. Maybe just remind each other of the things that you like about each other, rather than just focusing on the things that annoy you at the moment. Some fella's need almost as much attention as a baby IMHO :D
Very jealous of you fitting into your pre pregnancy jeans! Good for you!!

Doglover things weren't very different last night, tbh. The main difference was I was able to go to bed much early which got me 5 hours straight sleep in a row. He did his usual and slept from 8pm to 4am. He was fussing about at 10pm so I had to swaddle his arms as he was scrubbing his head and eyes and waking himself up. Then started getting restless about 3:30am making every noise but not actually crying. I hadn't used a dummy all day but I stuffed one in his mouth at 4am while I warmed a bottle, came back and he was fast asleep. Didn't want to waste the bottle so dream fed him 4 oz. He was very restless after that and snoozed til 7:30. Only took 4 oz of his breakfast feed so i don't think he was that hungry last night.

Does anyone have a LO who scratches and scrubs at their head? Mine has a bit of cradle cap and excema but it's nearly gone now. I can't leave his mitts off or he would be covered in scratches. I've used a nail file to smooth his nails but they still make him bleed when he scratches. Anyone got suggestions??

Smlsave what a tragedy. There was a funeral here yesterday for a 17 year old boy who also had a 1 month old baby. Just horrible for everyone. Such a tradegy.

Kira good luck today! At least if baby is on the big side he/she will be easier after birth with feeding etc :p

Gilly hurry up and become legit! Have you many weeks left to go?

Winnie I started solids at 16 weeks. Thought HV would have told me off but she was absolutely fine about it.
Just noticed I've graduated to 2 stars!

Well just under 4 weeks, but been to hospital today and heads not engaged again, so God knows. Lots of sitting on ball required I think. :(

I started weaning at 4 months as she showed a lot of the signs, putting everything in her mouth, feeding a lot etc but she wasn't that interested so would prob wait till 6 months next time.

My SIL is in labour at the moment, very excited!
