Thats a new one, blow the pain away! I had 3 midwives as I was there a while lol, first was a right old witch who really hurt me doing the sweep, second was better but hardly came to see me abd took forever to get the pethadine and the third was so lovely I wished she had been there all along. OH bought some chocs for her as she really kept me calm. Its so funny how you get complete different ends of the spectrum!

Its way too hot to sleep, all our windows are open and I am still roasting!

Way to warm here tonight! Have a feeling i'm not going to sleep to well.
Talking about midwives, i had a fab lady called michelle with me throughout, she was there through my section and stayed with me all night checking my bp every half hour and mopping my tears up. She even let my oh stay with me all night on the delivery suite! I can't fault the staff who cared for me and poppy, feeling a bit emotional thinking about it all again - was the scariest time of my life.
Night all, lets hope we all get some undisturbed sleep!

My waters went in the middle of labour, halfway through moaning I stopped and said very calmly, oh, there go my waters, then carried on. :D

Thanks for adding me to the list nutella! We do need Emsbet over here!

Well Teddy went to bed at 11.30pm and has just woke up for a feed, which is the longest he's gone at night, nearly 4hours wooooooooo!! So I'm sitting here quite awake for once and not falling asleep :-) keep it up boy! The heat is crazy though, our downstairs is lovely and cool but upstairs is an oven!

Funny how everyone is different re waters breaking. Mine going was the first sign of labour, and did they go! Was standing over a towel at one point while they were pouring out, hubby was horrified! Had to hold a towel between my legs and waddle from the car park to maternity, glad it was 5am and no one was about! Ahhhhh I get all excited thinking about it, was so amazing :-) xxxx

Hi all, managed 5 hours broken up into a 2 hour and 3 hour stretch. A vast improvement on the night before!

Re waters breaking, I was induced and had to have mined broken for me. As I was 37+6 on induction date, I was classed as full term for twins but my body obviously wasn't ready. OH said he'd never seen me in so much pain, I felt like I was literally being manhandled, even the poor student in the room looked shocked! Wish they'd went naturally, I was all prepared with the incontinence sheets lol

Going to catch up with whats been going on but hope a restful night was had by all! Xx

Morning everyone, hope you and all your LOs are doing well, especially for those of us finally having a heatwave!

Somehow I haven't been here for days, not quite sure what's been going on. I shouldn't be here now, should be doing some housework as BIL is coming over tonight to spend time with his big brother and the place is looking very shabby! I'm waiting for baby to wake up too as she appears to have decided on a lie-in!! She woke up just after 2, went down again about 2.30 and is still asleep now (will have to go check but I'm sure I'd be hearing about her being hungry if she was awake!).

I didn't know my waters had gone, they went during labour and DH noticed and told the midwife! I'd been in the pool and she'd made me get out for a little bit as she couldn't get a long enough heartbeat listen to satisfy her. I remember being really uncomfortable on the bed and insisting on getting onto my knees on the floor and DH told me later they'd gone at that point... probably explains why it felt a bit better after that although being made to lie on my back for even a brief moment for the listen was hell.

It's getting hot here already and the back door is open and next-doors kittens keep wandering into the house. My cats seem to think that staring at them is all they need to do, I thought with having 5 of our own we wouldn't have to worry about random cats coming into the house!

My waters went as i walked from triage to delivery...I remember holding on to the wall as I had a contraction, and them running down my legs (not a pop and gush but certainly not a trickle either). I said "oh no, I'm sorry ive just wet myself" to the midwife...she took one look at me and said "no hon that was your waters breaking" and i then proceded to disagree with her and insist I had wet myself, lol!! It was only once we got in to a delivery room about a minute labour i then thought "oh my god my waters have broken!".....love how labour makes you totally nuts!!
