Yup. +2 days now, and been ready for her exit since 37 weeks when the Pgp kicked in BIIIIIIG time!! Looks like she is going to be a chunky little monkey from scan measurements etc.
No plan really yet, saw the consultant on the 23rd, who attempted an exam and sweep but although 3/5 engaged, my cervix was totally unsuited to induction and the sweep was a) very painful b) ineffective!
Am seeing the m/w on Tuesday, and hope to persuade her to try a sweep (the consultant was less than gentle!). Otherwise its back to the consultant on Friday.
Meanwhile, Raspberry leaf tea by the bucket, EPO capsules, Birth hypnotherapy CD and my exercise ball!
You've got a good plan there then! Ouch for the painful sweep thoughI swear by the RLT. My pushing stage was 10 minutes long and I swear I could feel my uterus shrinking back straight after birth lol. Fingers crossed baby moves herself before Tuesday

Well i hope the RLT does something. I was monitored for 90mins at day assessment on the 22nd, and the equipment picked up a big fat 0 on uterine contractions, despite having been on RLT since 34 weeks and to my knowledge i havent felt any BH at all ever. Still, i'm keeping the faith that it cant do any harm, and might just help.
The sweep WAS awful. I have quite a decent pain threshold, but i was panting like a good un. We had a chuckle on the PG thread, that i was offended on behalf of my cervix when the consultant said mine was a long thin and hard as an old carrot! :rotfl:
Fingers crossed indeed and thanks for the wishes!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

In 20 minutes my little one will be exactly 4 days old - they've been the most amazing days of my life too and I'm soooo in love with her and my wonderful husband xx0 -
Evening everyone....
Forgot there was plans to start this!
Rose is a fortnight old now. So far, we've only had one hitch, which I mentioned in another thread where a girl felt like a failure as a mum.
Everything's been fine, we're lucky in that Rose seems happy and contented. She sleeps well, and routines are starting to show.
I'm not too bad, still quite lightheaded, and waiting for the iron/platelets/white cells in my blood to pick up again. Miss driving! Not a formal restriction- merely an advisory. Was also advised not to lift Rose up/down stairs, as I don't getmuch warning when my head goes.... same for baths, DH sits in and chats to me. But that's all, and isn't much!
Had a problem in hospital due to blood and a lung infection- was so hot that night that the midwife had to find a fan, as Rose wouldn't feed on me. She kept going to sleep if she was anywhere near my skin, it was hot to touch! Plans for a blood transfusion were mentioned a few times, escaped that though!
Breastfeeding has been a problem, and we've reverted to half formula, half expressed until my nipples heal up. I think I'm not producing enough milk for her anyway- she's a very very hungry baby. I will try again, but it's pointless at the moment, when it just hurts as much as it does. A pity, as it had went well for some time before that.
Anyway, nice to be on here, and nice to see some familiar names....0 -

Room for a little one? Well not that little actually!! I have a ds who is 18 weeks/4.5 months. He is amazing but sadly he's had horrendous reflux and colic for which he has a fair few meds and prescription formula and regular reviews at hospital. Whilst I'm no expert I'd say that I'm pretty experienced so I really hope no one needs it, but if anyone wants any tips about it then I'm your girl! Thankfully it's finally pretty well controlled and the colic has gone but it flares up each time he gets a cold or a teething bout.
Kira I went to 40+2 and at the MW app at 40 weeks I was only 3/5 engaged. I had a mad cleaning frenzy in the morning and gave birth that night. Get scrubbing!!0 -
Hiya everyone. Ryan is doing ok and is 4 weeks old today. Had a great time over christmas and new year with his big sister.
The last few days ryan has been grumbling and wanting feeds every 3hrs and not sleeping much compared to previously - anyway was thinking it maybe wind. My parents came to our house for New Year dinner today and its wind we think - last 2 nights have been bad as he was sleeping 6-8hrs during the night. Anyway we ended up at asda (who was open today on New Year Day) for Dentinox so fingers crossed we go back to 6hrs at night.
Some things come back to you and others take a bit longer to remember. Last week ryan only put on a bit of weight but this week he put on lots so we are happy with this.MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

DL, Lynn nice to see you both! Wow, time passes quickly. Remember you both on the main pg thread not so long ago...
DL , the colic sounds hard going. Glad it's on the up now. Thanks for the offer of your knowledge!
Lynn, hope the wind cure works!

Not had chance to read but thought I'd say hello. LO is one month today and being a mum is fab. She is so good, not a crying baby overall but does have abit of collic at the mo so hope to get some infacol today.
Hope everyone is well and lookforward to sharing some tips.
Oh and I've just bought the Medala breast pump from the grabbit board. It is fantatstic. I loaned a hospital one and although its is a double pump I was only expressing 1-2oz at a time. The medala one is so much better, 4-5 oz a time and it is so comfortable.0
