Huggies, the general consensus from all the mums I speak to is - CRAP, there are a few that they work for but it's minimal and seems to be none if you have a boy.
Asdas Little Angels are supposed to be goodWe like Pampers. x

But Tescos have different animals on the front of all the nappies and it's dead exciting finding out if you're going to get a hippo, a lion or a giraffe!
Yes I've officially lost the plot now.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

so do pampers I think... haha I can't even remember. We have Elmo, Big Bird, Ernie and Cookie Monster.:pThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
I found the Nature Eco nappies were really good, bit more expensive, but they had a £4 off voucher on their webiste when I was pregnant and their nappies were only £3.75 in Tesco so I made 25p!!
I didn't use any Pampers as I had about 5 packs of Huggies which leaked so I just used them all up and didn't get anymore. (These were free as I got my family to sign up to Asda's baby club)
The free nappies lasted me for about 2 months and then I started using reusables and I love them!
I just bought some plain white Tots Bots when I was pregnant as I always planned to use them, but thought I'd better use all the free ones first as they only go up to 11lb and lo was born 8lb 5oz. Then I joined a cloth bum mum group on facebook, anything you can think of they can make into a nappy. Any colour, any design, ruffles on the bum, poppers, velcro, wraps, 2 parters, pocket nappies, all in ones, there is a massive addictive world of reusables!!
Newborns tend to need about 8-10 nappies a day, but depends on the baby. They say to change them after every big feed so roughly every 3 hours, but depends how often your baby feeds. My lo pooed 3 times in an hour whilst in hospital so that was 3 nappies.
Hope this helps xxGot married 13/11/10

Nature Babycare I love, they're what we use when not on washables. Sainsburys Eco are ok too, they seem a little bigger than NB. Huggies were ok for us at the bottom end of a weight range, as soon as he got bigger they leaked wet way before the top weight. Pampers leaked poo, so I took them back!
If you do stockpile, save the receipts. Most shops are happy to exchange, but some quibble without the receipt. Also don't buy all first size, in case you have a whopper!
Wipes I also had to swap, they all bring him out in a rash bar Huggies Pure.0 -
Oh, and Dizziblonde, how's things going with your little one?0
-
Just remembered, I also found Pampers smelled horrible once wet!0
-
Ohhh pampers do smell... But then you know when they are wet cause they stink!
We used our free huggies and got on with them fine but now just pick the cheapest disposables as we primarily use reusables too.
Almost wish id had a girl so i could buy a ruffle nappy!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

You wouldn't believe how happy I am now knowng I'm not the only one who gets excited by the different animals on tesco nappies!!
Little angels have a different scene on each on too e.g a little dude fishing
find the little angels are good, morrisons size 2 were brill for my son but size 3 were a bit leaky so it can change even when you get the baby!!0 -
We didn't get on with Huggins (Seb is a skinny boy) and I found he leaked much more when he got over the half way point on the weight range. I would get a selection of nappies size 1-3 while they are on offer, but I would suggest you limit yourself to a total of 5 packs in each of these sizes. Tape the receipt to the nappies as it can be difficult to swap sizes without them. I've been using up all the huggies that I got really cheap but I hate them, I'm on my last pack of size 3 and it's going to be pampers from now on, we use the actifit for nights and trips out and they are so much better.
Hope that help.:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do
