    hello :)

might get a door bouncer then, cheaper too lol

still quiet here, i will have to go over to the preggy thread and tout for newbies!!

funny question now but here we go...currently im employed 37 hrs pw on the top of my scale so earn about 18k per yr. i was planning on returning 4 days pw in oct/nov time with LO in nursery 3 days and with his nanny 1 day. problem is, i have seen a job advertised at work which i meet the requirements for - its two grades higher so would mean me starting on just over 20k and going up to just over 23k, i am really unsure whether to apply for a few reasons really:
    - its 37 hrs pw and i dont think i could request to do 4 days if i was successful in getting it.
    - i am still on mat leave so i dont know if they would want me to start pretty soon ish if i did get it

im in a bit of a muddle, i would lose out on a day with Aiden if i did get it, buuut it would really help us bringing in more money as we dont qualify for any help towards nursery fees really.
is it worth applying? as i say i dont even know if they would consider me as im on mat leave. is it worth earning more but losing a day with Aiden? the extra money wouldnt really be seen, i imagine it would just go on nursery fees, but it would prob help our future as it would give me good experience for future jobs.

arggh. advice anyone? unless im talking to myself lol.

gosh, sorry about grammar, hardly advertising myself as a great employee am i lol - typing on my phone which is always a struggle.

    hope everyone well. x

alizee - have a look in your private messages.

sunshine - sorry you are talking to yourself!! I don't know if we can be helpful really, it's all pros and cons and only you can decide whether the long-term prospects are worth the short-term expense and missing lo. It may well be they want someone in post before you would want to return to work anyhow. Worth enquiring so you can make a decision I guess.

We are good. Baby girl is now over 4 months old! Sleeping was great, now back to being a nightmare but I think she's getting the hang of it again. Other than that she's doing brilliantly with feeding and growing (although she's a dinky little thing on the 9th centile!) and doing new things all the time to make me a proud mummy!

Hello all :hello: I haven't been here because I used to post from my phone, which was stolen by some inconsiderate scuzzbag about 3 weeks ago.

How is everyone keeping? Are we all enjoying the sunshine?

I had to buy a big sunshade for the buggy, it was £25  but it covers the whole thing, which makes it look like I'm pushing a giant bin bag but it beats the stuffing out of those umbrella ones :)

I used to have a door bouncer for DD1, she loved it. It was helpful when I was cooking etc because it meant that I could put her in the doorway and she'd be occupied and safe.

How nice to hear from some more people! :D

Sunshine, why don't you apply for the job and then if they offer you it make your decision. Your gut feeling when offered the job will most likely be the right one for you.

We have a big family get together tomorrow which I'm hoping will go well. I'm a bit of an odd one out as I'm a bit of an 'attachment parenting' mum compared to the rest!!!

  • Hi everyone, I just noticed this thread & thought i'd drop in as I have a 10 month old son. I hope that's ok.

Harrison has a jumperoo & absolutely loved it although he hasn't used it for a few months now. It was brilliant for wearing him out in the evening so he'd fall asleep. He also has really strong legs now which I think it helped with.

He can take 4 or 5 steps but then start's crawling because it's faster to get where he want's to go. :rotfl:

He's really enjoyed playing in his paddling pool the last couple of days to cool down.

I haven't read through the thread yet but hope to catch up with you all soon. :A
