I don't understand the fuss about turkey at Xmas...bland and dry, much rather have a nice tasty roast chicken thank you very much! Or a tender joint of beef, or a lovely salty boiled bacon...yum yum yum.
OH is a silly fussy eater, so it will just be me and Reuben for Xmas dinner realy, I plan on getting a nice joint of beef (can't afford that usually but pushing the boat out for Xmas!) and OH will have, I don't know what, prob do him a stuffed chicken breast and roast potatoes, but I'll cook a nice range of veg for me and reuben.
Reu definitively seems to take after me for taste preferences....he likes bitter things, he loves grapefruit, and I was eating a satsuma today that was quite sharp, he looked at me like "where's my bit mum?" so I held it out and he licked it....the suddenly snatched it out of my hand and rammed the whole bit in his mouth!! Loving this weaning malarkey, but not lovely the extra washing from either food everywhere or big explosive poops!!!!
Sunshine I hope the viewing goes well, and Katie I hope you get a little more sleep tonight than usual!!!!0 -
Turkey is succulent as long as you baste it often, I tend to layer streaky bacon over mine too, it's always really juicy

Morning ladies
We had a much better night, fed him at 1 and 5.30 and gave him his dummy at 10.30 and 3, and we just woke up (7.30am). More coincidence than anything really, had to let him cry for a bit at 10.30pm but at 3 he went straight back off. And when I fed him he had proper feeds which makes it much more bearable, if he needs the milk thats fine, its the two sucks and back to sleep thwt does my head in. And sleeping til 7.30...i feel quite refreshed with that lie in!
I'm another turkey fan here, we have roast chicken quite often so its nice to have something special at Xmas. Can't wait!Newborn thread member

Morning all
Katie - glad you had a better night.
Gilly - is it picture cards ? The pic of Aaron with fisher Christmas would look fantastic as a card.
Noah woke up at 5 coughing and sounding bunged uphe had a bottle then went back to sleep until 7ish. He is in bed with me still watching Mickey Mouse! He cried when I took him downstairs so I think he is more comfortable in my bed for the minute.
All the talk about Christmas makes me so excitedI live the build up to Christmas, buying and wrapping gifts, visiting Santa and decorating the tree etc. everyone seems in a festive mood too which is great.

Morning all
Katie, glad you had a better night - hope things continue to improve for you.
We've been up since 6 and LO's on her first nap of the day! I'm roasting vegetables for our lunch, will cook some pasta as well. Done the washing up and put the laundry away - and OH is still sleeping! Although he did come home from work at almost midnight yesterday and he's had a busy week, so I don't blame him for having a lie in.
We'll be moving LO's bed into her new room today - the doorways are 3cm narrower than her bed, so we need to dismantle it and put it back together. Am contemplating putting it back together at the lowest level - we're currently on the middle one, which is fine, but for how long I wonder... Oh, and then we'll finally also build the toy box!
Have a good day everyone x0 -
