Unexpected adventure holiday booked for DD :o!

Had a group0n offer come through - £199 for 1 week at PGL camp. We had no childcare arranged for first week of Easter, and as it would have been £120 for local childcare scheme (plus extra running around to different location), we decided to bite the bullet and book. It's fantastic value, as it's £455 full price !

Once I'd already booked, I slept badly as had sudden thoughts 'what if she doesn't want to go?', but just spoken to her and she is over the moon! It also means a week of less stress for me and OH, although we had plans both weekends so just trying to see about assisted travel at the minute.

PM me if you fancy a referral...

end of the week, and another random day off (as had to use before end of leave year next week).
A quieter one as felt like coming down with something. A lie in, bit of comping, an hours yoga practice, healthy lunch at home of leftover cauliflower curry - just going to have a herbal tea before head into town to pick up DS from nursery (he had party to go to today!)

MUST remember to post Mothers day card!

Hi earthgirl and tyo, lovely to see you both here. The target is high this year, but with OHs new job (and salary) and 6 months of full maternity pay (and reduced childcare costs) I'm confident we can meet it. We're also saving a teeny bit towards OHs bike and our trip of a lifetime down under, and have put a bit away into a bonus scheme, so am very pleased with the progress. I don't think we'll be able to have many years like this after this one - make hay whilst the sun shines and all that!

OH paid, £1311.89 OP made today - taking us to over £5k in OPs this year :j! We're also £389 still in credit in current account, and camp already paid for so hoping to get another couple of hundred in once my pay is sorted.

A good weekend. Dropped some stuff off at the charity shop, and after almost buying some pregnancy exercise dvds from ama$on, I found not 1 but 3 on sale there for £1 each, plus found some tops for DS (who has grown out of nearly all of his) and the baby for 50p each :D. Good bit of karma there. I also saw someone doing repointing on a local house and got his number, which is on my list of things to sort out this spring.

Had work event on Sat which whole family enjoyed, with lunch in Corams field playground before. What glorious weather. Mothering Sunday was lovely, had lie in followed by home made American style pancakes and fruit. Nap in the afternoon, and walk in the woods which the kids loved, climbing trees and the like.

DD ill today so day at home. £1 spent on baguette so far, and OH to do food shop later.

Just won a month's membership to local council gym service - whilst I won't be doing much gym work, means I can take the kids (and myself) swimming for free over Easter/a few weekends :D.

  • Well done, you are doing very well on the competitions!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Hi SSS, I am doing well although spending a little bit too much time on them at the minute! Also won an online voucher for maternity store this week, so going to order a maternity/breastfeeding nightie this weekend :D.

DD, OH and DS taking DD to camp today, with stop on the coast. I'm having a leisurely morning (feeling a bit dizzy) and getting ready for an afternoon treat- a friend's fancy party in Mayfair with champagne reception and sushi tea. YUM! Some family will be there too which will be lovely.

Friend over for catch up tonight, and tomorrow morning have promised to take OH to local cafe for breakfast (he's feeling a bit miffed about missing out on today's indulgence).

Time to slap some make up on - hope everyone else has a good day too :D.

PS £384 OP made from money left over in last month's current account.
