Brilliant news about your win, well done!Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Great news news on the win and on the school choice. Shame about the paternity leave. Things sound really good MW, well done you.0

Thanks for the good wishes all

(if you get my meaning).
I do get your drift
but I don't think DD could keep it to herself that'd she'd just had an (amazing!) holiday so wouldn't want to put her in that position.
Been thinking about what else would love to win (greedy, moi? :rotfl:) and here's the list:
* TV
* tickets for family day out
* dinner/meal
* afternoon tea
* new kitchen
* new bathroom
* cash
* another holiday
* spa weekend
Let's see if the universe agrees with me that I need these things :rotfl::rotfl:.
We've booked a night away for just me and OH in April, my mum is babysitting :j. Really wanted some time together before the new arrival (although at the minute OH being a grumpy git so maybe I can take a friend instead?
) Deal through OH's work, it's a night in a lovely hotel near the thames, hundreds of acres to walk in, with a three course meal plus we're splashing out on 1 hr massages and a facial each :eek::j. Should be around the £200 mark, plus £30 for mum's transport.
Had a good weekend, we used another staff benefit and took kids to Tate Modern - saw the Patrick Hamilton exhibition free and played with the kids in their family area. Had packed snacks but cupboards bare for lunch but managed to get away with just two kids meals and a few extra bits for the adults in the museum for £12. DD had a sleepover last night and today I took all kids (+ 1 other) to park for a nice play. The weather has been fantastic. It was hard work getting DS home though as he was refusing to walk - I'd neglected to bring the buggy and can't carry him so it took almost an hour to do a 10 minute walk
, especially as OH not answering phone, or doorbell! Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Another hard week, but had our family weekend away to Alton Towers (another staff benefit). It was fantastic, the park was really quiet and we barely had to queue for rides. DD was so excited, went on things she thought she couldn't, and OH got to go on lots of rides too. We stayed in the hotel overnight and had an evening pool session, then paid for waterpark tickets yesterday. We ate at the buffet restaurant, which was a lot better quality than we were expecting. We're already planning to go again next year!
Have been entering waaay too many competitions, fingers crossed something comes of it. Chasing up an invitation for a £20 research project, today I have a couple of hours before need to go to a meeting at the school.
Plan is:
* [STRIKE]pick up OH's parcel[/STRIKE] I think he's got fed up of waiting for me and taken the slip himself!
* [STRIKE]comping [/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]tidy 1 x drawer in spare room[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]add 1 x item to fb selling group[/STRIKE] added an unprecedented 3, £33 if all sell at asking price :beer:
* put memory card in phone
erm, appear to have lost it in office of doom again
* cleaning x 1 hr
* [STRIKE]laundry x [STRIKE]2[/STRIKE] 1 loads one on, one waiting
* school meeting[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]prep dinner[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]OH food shop tonight[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]order sis and friend's bday cards[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]submit meter readings[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]post photo of break for comp[/STRIKE]

ETA: 3rd sold now, £20 raised.
Cleaning never got done but now 2 drawers in the spare room and a bag from the office emptied. Clearly I just need to threaten myself with cleaning in order to motivate myself!

migraine this morning
so been off work and not good for much. Think it was the stress of yesterday's meeting.
2 items have been picked up from local fb group, someone else coming round this evening and have 2 more to arrange times with. Just bumped the remaining 4 items.
Ordered sis and friend's card last night, there was a BOGOF offer so saved £2.99
£4.88 claimed from tcb too from Xmas cards.
Meter readings submitted last night.
Hoping for a quiet night with OH to try and recharge our batteries. Luckily I have Friday off, so only 2 days of work to struggle through.

* book weekend away for DS birthday (June's big family weekend)

* [STRIKE]email BIL re: coming up for weekend[/STRIKE]
* email other BIL re: going there for Easter

1. Won £25 on premium bonds - as only had £250 in there am v pleased with that
. Automatically reinvested.
2. Won a pair of tickets to View from the Shard, worth £60 :T. Thinking about taking OH on his birthday for a child free evening.
Have booked a lovely 2 for 1 afternoon tea tomorrow with friend, the place has great reviews unlike many which are on offer. Have bought sis vouchers for her bday so all ready for the weekend now.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

hi michelle, thanks for posting - I take it you came to Alton Towers too? It was fab, definitely will go again next year!
Hello mouche, good to hear from you. Really looking forward to our next weekend away, just OH and I, what a treat!
Had fantastic day off with friend, saw the vikings exhibition at the british museum (packed, but enjoyed it) followed by her surprise afternoon tea, which was fabulous. Emerald Street are currently doing a 2 for 1 on afternoon teas, all over the country. Went to cafecito, which is in a v posh hotel in St Martins Lane. It was cuban inspired, and both a bit different and really delicious. Completely recommended! The offer runs until end of April, only exclusion I've seen so far is mother's day.
Sold another few items on fb, 1 collected last night and 1 this morning, another £14 for the kitty.
Couple of washloads done, have pushed the hoover round, had quick tidy up and now off to jumble sale in a minute to see if can find any clothes for kids/new baby.
Have researchers round the house this afternoon, for £20 payment. Tonight have sis 40th party (present sorted :T) which am looking forward to.
Hope everyone else having good weekend, and that the sun stays put!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89
