    Hi Penny-Pincher
No under estimating, it is a major op. Tell her to forget that a vacuum exists for a long period, and the heaviest thing she can lift is a jug or water or a half filled kettle too.

While feeling better each day, it took me 7 weeks before I felt really better.

I can remember coming home and after a day or two it taking me all day in 5 minute stints to prepare the veg and put the dinner on. Had to remember to put the pans on the hob first, then add the veg, and then add water via a jug. DH had to strain and dish up.

If she is struggling to sit up, depending on the op method, then tell her to rock on her bum to build up momentum as it certain strains the tummy muscles.

    Hello Toots27, welcome!:D

Happy Birthday Jackie O, sounds like you're going to have a lovely day. Thank you for the idea for my pork last night, it was fab!

Rzl I used to live in Peckham until late last year and I want to move back! The news was so sad but Its an amazing place and getting better all the time.

My last day at work today for the week which I'm very pleased about, if the weather does turn bad I won't have to battle with London transport.

Bad news for me is I got informed that I didn't get a job I had an interview for the other day, I'm not that surprised as it was my first interview in 3 years! Plenty more to apply for though.

    Now for more lemsip :coffee:

    have a nice day everyone
  • :grouphug: to all who need it.

I'm being a wimp. Just arranged not to go to a meeting on Saturday

Two hour train journey each way for a two hour meeting plus either a 7am start or risk arriving late. Would have been OK in summer but not with the current forecast. I have always got uptight about snow/ice and I've got worse as I got older.
Best thing so far about being retired is I don't go to bed worrying about the weather.

Could I ask where you all get the super smilies you put in your messages (birthday cakes, moving hugs etc)?

Why oh why do the JW's have to come round just when I am right in the middle of something! I was just trying to sneak out of DD's room without waking her up and they knock at the door. I'm afraid I was quite sharp with them this time. The same two only turned up at my door 4 days ago and I told them then I wasn't interested!! She does it again and I am going to be extremely rude!

    Afternoon all! :hello:

Taken a half day's leave from work this afternoon to play nursemaid to DH, who is in a bad way. Spent all last night shivering and coughing, and was running a temperature as well. Had to pop into work this morning but am now back at home with supplies of ibuprofen and Benylin!

Will probably bung some scones on in a minute - just had pitta and hummus for lunch.

Enjoy the rest of your day and ((((hugs)))) to everyone who needs them!

    Hi everyone
I'm not getting up tomorrow ds1 was better this morning so I sent him to school he haad been there 10 mins when I get a call he was playing football when he got kicked full bore on the shin so I had to pick him up and take him to A&E it took us 4 hours to get sorted he hasn't broken it but has significant soft tissue damage (it does look sore and his leg is burning hot) so they have strapped him up told him to keep off of it and gave him a perscription for really strong painkillers
it was getting embarassing tho as most of them remebered me from last week when I had to take ds2 there but I suppose thats what happens when you have a surname like ours
goinr to finish my cuppa and try and do some jobs
    pam xx
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you
