hi OF just found your diary so will subscribe, seen you on other threads so thought i'd pop by.
You don't have to cancel sky per se, often just ringing up and threatening to cancel is enough to get them to offer you a reduced price for a few month, someone where i work even got it half price for a year! it's worth a punt, the worst thing they can do is not offer it and you can decide to go away and think about it some more.

Annoying about the child benefit, at least you will get 3 months back but such a pain about the two months you will miss out on.

I will be lying about Poppy's age for a while to get her in free. She is really small anyway so people think she is younger.

    Soup sounds yummy!

Big waves and hello to Lemon and Wannabee

LT - Hubby works for a company that install sky - we have had many years free sky and then loads at half price. This year they could only get us 25% off which was a bit annoying. We pay £38 a months and that includes everything except HD channels. Will have to see how things go

Wends - DD1 was tiny and we got her in as younger than she was for ages - Couldn't do that with DD2 though! They are the same height now pretty much. Though DD1 is clinging on to that 2cm she has over DD2!

Not much going on today. Hubby is in a DIY and lawn-mowing mood so that leaves me free to carry on with my Mum's photobook. It is a book of our Cyprus holiday last year when we got married. Makes me want to go away again! I made one for my Nan for xmas and my Mum bugged me to make her one which she would pay for. I have left it long enough and she hasn't asked for a while and now i can do it as a gift for Mothers Day :D

Off to carry on with photobook xxxxxx

Woohoo photo book done. It is 36 pages and cost £30 with discount code. Between me, my bro and my sis though so just a tenner each. I have told my other bro to get her flowers. We usually do it this way so mum doesnt get tonnes of flowers.

I have to be brief as i have come in work early. I work a 10 hour day on monday so i can work a 6 hour day on weds! :D

Good day yesterday. Photobook done, hubby sorted our bathroom door so it actually closes (lol only been here a year!) and he mowed the lawn. Plus MSE dinner over MILS and OH came away with some quiche for his lunch today :p

I have homemade soup for lunch and then for dinner a reduced Mr T lasagne OH picked up yesterday for 29p :D

Thats me...off to work hard x

Not a bad day so far.

Took my Mums dog for an hour and a half walk this morning . I have been gearing myself up to it as i was put off by picking up dog poo. I was lucky though and she didn't do one.

Then came home and did tonnes of housework! Off to clean the bathroom now and the house will be fully spotless!
    :D

DD2 has a friend round - they are being good so far! I generally don't have kids round as i prefer just my two at home!

Got two £2 coins today! That takes my total to £30! Woohoo
    :j

Just checked banking - just enough in there for my O2 bill - so all my money i have left is what i have in my wallet! Eeek

Dinner is fajitas tonight! nom nom! 2 wraps to be kept back to do DD2's lunches for 2 days

    :(:(:(:(:(:(

I have a poorly girl home from school today! She can't even keep water down :(

Not very MSE as left my cousins present at work which i need to give her after school - it was a reduced £6 next set down from £12 but now ill have to give her £10 in a card. I can keep the set for xmas and save some money there though.

Maybe do some decluttering today while DD2 is sparked out. Trying to sort out how to make up my hours now though for work!

Bad day yesterday! Poorly daughter and hubby dropped to 3 days a week at work. This will lose us about £570 a month :eek:

Not quite sure how we will cope

Cancelling Sky- sames £38 a month
Cut down food - lots of hm soup for dinners and use up the freezer - hopefully cut by £40 a month
Using OH's saved money to pay off some bits to lower payment
Try and get 0% balance transer for credit card - save £50 a month
    Stopped badminton - saves £30 a month
Also Aprils wage cheques will be about £30 higher with the lower tax band increasing

I have asked my Uncle about working an extra day a week. He will get back to me so fingers crossed. Will look for a cleaning job maybe.

OH will want to get rid of the kids dancing which i am still not willing to do. But i have been thinking. When my child benefit money comes through i will pay the £233 i owe them. They never chase for these fees - apparently some people are a year behind!!! My next bill will be the end of april. I could probably leave this until July as it wont be chased. By then hopefully we ill be back on track and can pay it then and then start preparing for Sept payment. This means in the meantime we can use the £80 a month to help out.

Wish us luck. OH'#s boss said it may only be for a few weeks but we have to prepare for it being longer! may save £80 a month

Hope things pick up. Don't despair. Am sure it can come good for you all

    Thanks for popping in Brizzle.

I updated our SOA with cut backs we can make and the expected income amounts. It looks like we could do it pretty easily if i get another day a week but in fact we can just about do it with a small margin if i don't get an extra day. I will post the new soa when i am at home. This has made me feel better.

Plus OH got approved for a H@lifax 0% deal but his limit is only £2100 but it is for 22 months which ill help. He has a 0% deal on his N@twest with a £3100 limit but it is only for 6 months. Still better than nothing. Then we wont be paying interest on any of that £4800 which will be great!

Feeling a bit more positive! We will also look out for little jobs he could maybe do in the meantime. I would like him to change jobs but he is on a pretty good wage for round here and also he boss has said he will get a payrise when it all pics up so long term we might be better sticking out the 3 days phase!
