  • lol Starnac - The absence of SIL owning a tortoise means i guess not!

Had a lovely night at my Nan and Grandad's Wedding Anniversary. They also paid for everyone's first drink. So we spent just £1.30 on a coke. They loved their photos i sorted for the digital frame! Spent ages just watching the photos :D

Today i am going to declutter some more - didn't finish the kitchen as planned yesterday - will do that now and then move on to our bedroom. I told OH we would have a clutter free bedroom when he got home so i can't disappoint

Haven't thought of anything for dinner but we have tonnes of Quorn mince so i am thinking maybe a chilli. We have no bread but have a sealed cracker tin from xmas so will do crackers for lunch for the kids and omelette and beans for me to use them up.

We have been invited to DD1's friends housewarming gathering. Just to pop in for some nibbles and to look at the house - hopefulyl we will fit this in. They said pop in anytime between 2-8pm.

Transferred £100 from our £200 paypal balance to my account. £40 owed to my money for postage and £60 to pay towards DD's birthday party. I realised she actually has 6 friends to invite so i feel like i have saved £12 already! I am kind of hoping one of the ones she isn't as close too won't be able to come! :A £72 doesn't sound as bad! :p

Right off to make a cuppa

Woohoo got to pay out point in va1ued opinions. Will wait a bit though as i want to use it for xmas think

Not much going on. Had DD1's birthday on monday - she was 9! I want them to stop growing! :( She had a great day - her party is this saturday. One person can't go so £72 feels much better now :D I made her funky cupcakes - 36 of them!

Money situation - desperately waiting for payday. Have enough to last my i think. 6 days to go. I have that £106 transffered into my account and then £10 that was left in there and £5 ish in my purse. I need to pay £72 to Paint-a-pot for the party. So i have a little bit spare

Dinner tonight from stores - quorn burgers and hm rolls and then crispy chicken with mash for the girls

OH isn't home until 8.30 on a weds - so i am hoping to do a bit of housework, the kids homework, put them to bed and then have a bath before he gets back for dinner

REALLY need to do the mealplan as we are not being very organised!

My loan balance is now just above the £4.5k mark. Will be chuffed when this payment takes it under the £4.5k mark. I can't wait to get to a point where we can start overpaying it. 2 years left on it without overpayments.

Thinking of looking into a ppi claim on an old loan. I paid it off with a new loan about 3 years ago but i had been paying ppi for about 4 years by then i think. Will look into it properly.

I am staying home from badminton tomorrow to make cupcakes. Partyn for time reasons but also to save money. My turn to pay i think. Badminton is £5.25, the £2.20 on a bus and every other week we have lunch. So on average i spend about £8 a week. Will low funds ill stay home. Plus i want to make a load of cakes for DD1's cake sale at school.

Enjoying this save £2 coins malarkey! I have £14 saved in my sealed pot now! :j

Right off to make the kids dinner and put some dough on for hte rolls! x

    Uneventful day really

Made 36 cupcakes. 24 for DD1's cakes sale tomorrow, 1 for my Uncle to take into work as he loves cakes, 7 for DD1's birthday party on Saturday and 4 for home :D Had nephew over for a few hours in between - he's a good boy :D He is 1 next week!!! I don't want him to grow up so fast!

LSD today as only bought Stock....BUT that stork cost me £2.29 really rather than £1.29 as CoOp gave me a 20 euro cents coin instead of £1 and i didn't realise until i was home.

Off to get the kids homework done and put them to bed early and then have dinner with OH - Fajitas to use up the mushrooms and pepper in the fridge :)

lol Starnac - i feel like i intervene too much as she doesn't really know where to start with her homework!

I have had a bad week. I have had my head in the sand in regards to checking the balance of my credit card. It has been spirals due to the wedding. Xmas 2010 was when we were saving for the wedding - lots of that xmas went on next and very accounts. Then late 2011 i had to put the very amounts on my c/c to avoid paying a years interest on them. Then we had wedding bits going on them and then xmas 2011 too plus struggling with money meant i used it for other things. I was imagining it would be at about £3.5k but infact it was £4.8k  I was devastated. OH went mad but it isn't though i have been living lavishly at all - it has just been for regular things. He has a lot more money than me coming in and assumes my £100 spare a month can pay for xmas! He needs to be a bit more family orientated with his money and i need to tell him what is going on with mine and say when i don't have any money left etc. He is a little gutted as he thought i had a lot less and we would be able to sort it quickly and then pay off my loan early! :(

So at present the debts are

Credit card £4800 - paying interest of all but about £900 which is interest free for 3 more months (need to check on that)
    Loan - £4563 - 2 years left on this
    Next - £542
    Very - £348

Total - £10253 - gutted it is over £10k. Though won't be for long

Our plan is to move what we can to OH's empty c/c for a 0% deal. He has a £3.1k limit so we can move about £2.9k. So at least that is interest free. That will leave £1900 on my card £1000 on it that has interest on.

I am going to do another SOA. On our Excel budget it shows i should have £180 left and he should have £400 left but he says he never has this so we need to record our spending. This budget doesnt include card, next or very payments but does include my loan. So theoretically we should be able to check at least £400 a month at the card, very and next. Just need to be a bit more careful.

Going to throw myself into surveys to try and raise money for xmas to add to my £2 coin saving. I have £22 saved in my sealed tin!

OH mentioned about dropping the kids clubs and sky but i would like to avoid this if i can. We spend about £70/80 a month on the kids clubs and the majority of that is their dancing which they love. Trouble is if they leave they won't be able to join in the same groups when we can afford for them to go back. Sky is our entertainment. We tend to either go for walks of watch telly at the weekends. I watch a lot of golf and would be gutted if i couldn't watch that

Right off to do a SOA x

Sorry to hear you had a bit of a shock with the cc. It is amazing how quick things add up when you don't keep an eye. It is out of order for your OH to have a go if it is for family stuff.

Sounds like you have a good plan to tackle it though and I agree that you shouldn't cut out your girls groups etc as sounds like they really enjoy them.

Good luck with the surveys etc, I am saving up my vouchers for Poppys birthday at the min and then might start saving for christmas as we have a lot less extra money than we did have so will be tight this year.

Thanks Wendz - i feel a bit better about it now. When i met OH he had £30k of debt and we came out of that - this is just another little set back.

The snowball tells me we should be able to clear our debt by June 2013 which would be fab. Though realistically we won't have that amount free every month. We want to do a few camping holidays and we have big birthdays this year which will be a bit more than our budget!

But i haven't added that OH quite often earns bits of money as cash in hand. This can be anything between £750-1000 a year or more. Ideally once we are sorted this would be a great amount so save to cover xmas.

My MSE things at the mo

Bought cheap pork in the week and made a casserole and a curry last night to freeze. Bought reduced meatballs, chicken escalopes and quorn sausages which gives a few cheap meals. In fact have a freezer full!

Surveys are going well. Between me and OH we have about £30 in survey accounts

Got my friend to buy DD the jeans she wants (her bday last week) DD with be happy and she wont bug me for them before the summer

Hey OF...you have a diary!! Sorry I've only just found you...but better late than never eh;)

You are sounding very organised and motivated right now:D I like your decluttering target - have you listed all the areas to you want to get sorted?

How are your photos coming on? It's something I'd love to do, take one a day, but I really wouldn't have anything interesting to photograph most of the time;)
I really need to sort out a new signature!
