Woah i havnt been on since Thursday. Nothing much exciting going on.

Had a good day yesterday - sorted out 3 kitchen cupboards. About 25 items for charity shops/bin and 2 for ebay.

Went to the garden centre and bought some bits. We want to start growing veg. Nothing too elaborate. Our back garden is a concrete mess! We had a huge conrete shed knocked down and still havent cleared away the stuff that was inside it. Our front garden is more like our back garden as it is bigger, grassed and not overlooked. We also use the back door as a front door as that is where the car gets parked. So we want to deck the whole back garden and then grow some veg in bags and boxes. Starting with carrots to see how we go!

It is a cake making week - i am making cupcakes tomorrow for my nans birthday on weds and then a birthday cake on thursday for OH's 32nd birthday on friday.

Nan's cushion arrived (£35 down to £10.50) hopefully she will love it!

    Right that is me! x

I thought I had subscribed but clearly not so will be rectifying that in a minute. Oh dear naughty tooth fairy!!! Well done on the weight loss and the news that you could make up for OH's lost day if needed.

We have a concrete yard too and we grew veg pretty successfully last year in pots, tubs and a raised flower bed thing so don't let your garden put you off. Carrots were one of the veg we grew and they were so easy they were DD's project.

Growing veg is a good idea, sure it will taste nicer than the shop stuff.

I am going to make OH a cake too, might attempt a carrot cake for the first time.

    Hey,

Hope the cake making goes well. Congrats on the weight loss, that's amazing. Just goes to show eh?!

I think the neighbours and I are going to start growing veg in our communal area front garden. We are a row of three houses with private path leading to our doors and also a grass area that we are all responsible for as well as our own little front gardens so that'll be nice. Starting simple like you say... a few carrots and then see how we go!

Hey all! Cupcake making went well. Made 34 cakes. Four for gifts at work, 6 for home and 24 for my Nan. I made chocolate ones with vanilla butter cream and chocolate decorations. Then vanilla cakes with vanilla buttercream and dolly mixtures on top :-) My Nan loves dolly mixtures :D
She loved them but I felt a bit guilty that no one really ate her actual cake!

Now a cake is baking in the oven. This way it will be perfect for carving tomorrow into the shapes I need for hubby birthday cake. Also have to make more cupcakes for him to take into work!

Starnac- great to know of other people who have successfully grown veg in concrete back gardens. We have grass at the front but it isn't huge and I want to keep that free for the kids. Thinking of growing tomatoes in hanging baskets. Space saving and they look pretty too.

Choc- that sounds ideal about growing veg with your neighbours. I take it you get on well. We don't ever really speak to ours other than the odd hello!

Wendz- good luck with the carrot cake! I reckon homegrown veg will taste better too.....definitely a lot more appreciated!

Nothing much happening at the mo.

We got given a virgin couples choice voucher for our wedding. We have finally picked the experience we want. Three course meal for two on a boat down the Thames and then a trip o the London eye! If we get the voucher back in time it would be nice to do for our anniversary

Spent the evening helping dd1. She has to go to school dressed as a pop/rock star so we have been planning her outfit and what we are going to do with her hairs. Then we had to make a homemade instrument so we used a box, toilet roll tube and elastic bands to make a guitar! Done

Right going to get hubby off this stupid skyrim game and watch Masterchef! :D

Blimey, you're baking loads! Put me to shame!

Yes, we do get on with our neighbours very well, we feel really lucky to live where we are. Speak to them most days in passing, have had dinner a few times and often they look after oscar for us if we are away and I sometimes take their dog running with me etc. It's very nice indeed, in fact the close we live in (8 houses in total) we all are friendly with one another. Enough not to impose but enough to have a natter if out at cars at same time etc. We had a nice street party at royal wedding last year :)

Hope you have a good day today xx

I made him an Orange (true to my name) Formula One car :D

ill see if i can get a picture on. I was pleased with it...a few flaws - like my writing on it wasnt great and the nose of the car wasnt as perfect as i would have liked. But he was really pleased with it :D

He had a great day. He got £20 from his Nan and spent it on us having lunch together while the kids were at school :T It was lovely

Tonight we are off to Prezzo with Tesco vouchers. I AM having pudding - not great for he diet but i am thinking 'sod it' for today :p

Made a load of Mushroom soup the other day with reduced Mushrooms. Had it for lunch today......LOVE mushroom soup!

Today has been ballet run day...and will have a slight spend. A family friend is helping out a lot with DD1 and having her inbetween ballet lessons so i dont have to walk down there every half hour. So today i am going to buy her some flowers as a big thank you so she knows she is appreciated. Not MSE but a nice thing to do :D

OH had a good birthday. I wasn't allowed to get him much on his prders. So i got him a pic of his 3 kids (his son and our DDs) on a canvas with a groupon code. Then an Animal top, a microwave soup mug, a homemade recipe book with our printed recipes from websites, and a formula one car keyring :D
