Right I am back and raring to go-
Thanks for the message Choc - so pleased you had an amazing wedding day - have just found and posted on your new diary
I didn't get that job
I was really gutted about it. However i have to take positives from it. The first one i applied for and out of 50 applicants i got to the last 2. It was a shame but i have to realise it means i have marketable skills! I am keeping my eye out - next step to send my CV around to different places and upload it to jobsites.
Money wise we are doing okay. Just go a full pay cheque again from hubbys work! woohoo!
OH has managed to get all my credit card balance on 0% cards for 20 months. This is fantastic news as it means we are at least making a dent in them each month.
So we have £5500 on cards at 0% for 20 months costing us £55 a month. Then we have my loan of £4000 which costs us £215 a month for another 22 months. The initial thought is to pay the cards BUT to overpay the loan would do us more good as we are paying interest on it plus it save us £215 a month when it is gone
After doing another SOA it tells me we should have £563 left after all payments. My plan is to overpay by a MINIMUM of £200 a month. This seems doable plus we have enough left for days out etc and then to overpay anything we have left at the end of the month. I am hoping we can pay £100 each and then at the end of the month throw anything we have left at it
My long workings out have shown me that if we overpaid by £250 a month we could have it gone in 9 months! This would be amazing - so watch this space.
Spoke to Ll0yds and they have given me details to pay extra by standing order. I have paid £50 today to check it works and the money comes of my loan balance. I can't wait to see the balance drop - will set myself little goals like to be under £3.5k
Have been a little MSE lately. Cut down on my spending for my mums birthday. Used Mr T vouchers to buy a magazine subscription for BIL's birthday. Used a £10 of a £50 spend (on-line) at Mr S. Had that delivered yesterday
Looking forward to June - With OH's wages back i want to resume playing badminton with my bestie
It is a cost but i love it.
Only 2 birthdays so not too bad. I budget £40 a month for birthdays so will make sure i put back the other £20 for busier months such as August! OH spent £53 on shopping for a BBQ out of these wages! So pretty pricey! Am hoping to cut food costs down this month to absorb the BBQ cost! Will be ordering vouchers for some days out with Mr T vouchers while their deal for 5 x is still on.
Fingers crossed it is nice at the weekend - hoping to maybe go camping saturday and sunday night. Only thing is it will be a cost and we have to sort me out a new bed!
That is my long post back!
I hope everyone is well.Orange Fairy

Hi OF so nice to see you back. Sorry you missed out on the job but getting to the last 2 is brilliant.
Looks like you're doing well on the money front too. Well done.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Hi Starnac! Nice to be back!
Had a non-eventful couple of days. Though my first loan overpayment went through and came off my loan yesterday! Woohoo. So now i can increase that.
Will be chatting to hubby tonight. We have been in talks with SIL and BIL about going with them to france and staying with keycamp. It wont be utterly expensive but probably will end up coasting us about £800. I would love to go away but am thinking should we just plough on as much as we can at the moment. Forget holidays this year and throw everything we can at the loan. Maybe do a winter Centerparcs and some camping. Not sure yet.
I am ridiculously excited about getting rid of the loan. It was 4114 and that £50 made it £4064. About £150 should come off on the 6th when my regular payment comes off. Then hopefully another overpayment of about £200 should make it about 3700.
Non MSE thing today - in cargo there was a hanging frame I have wanted since December. I told someone to get it for me for Xmas and then they sold out. Then it was my birthday 2 weeks ago and it was in stock. By the time my friend went in it was gone! I told myself if I ever saw it again I would buy it there and then. Popped in today to see it hanging there with 20% off! So I bought it. I did use my birthday money to take my family to the Cinema so I will count it as a birthday present from my Godmothers Money!
Played badminton and had lunch with my bestie
This is in my budget.
Need to get hubby to do a good search for car insurances as he has 2 weeks to renew and the renewal amount from Mr T is awful and will cost us another £10 a month - no thanks!
Right of to help DD with her homework.Orange Fairy

Nice to see you back again!
That is a shame about the job but great you did so well so hopefully will give you some confidence in future interviews.
It is is great you are getting to play badminton again.
Yay for finding the frame as well!0 -
Thanks Wendz
Not much going on today. OH has a voucher for £5 of a £40 spend in Mr T. So I will make a list today of things we need.
Housework day today! Hubby is at work and then we have 3 days off together. Looking forward to it. This morning our Mr T vouchers have arrived. We have enough for 2 visits to Crealy adventure Park and 1 visit to The Big Sheep. Though this week there is a buy on get one free offer to get in to the Big Sheep so we can get in for £24. So not sure whether or not to use the vouchers of save the vouchers and go for £24. Decisions decisions!
Hopefully we should be okay grocery wise this month. We have a freezer jam packed and loads of toiletries to use up!
We have decided not to go camping and OH said he can do an over payment on my loan of £100. The sensible option I think!
