Clever and well thought out idea. The only problem with this service is that it doesn't really assist anyone "on the move" as you will need to be standing outside peoples homes to get a signal.
I doubt if your sitting inside a KFC in Norwich that you'll ever pick up one of these networks. How much more do I need to spend make myself a "Money Savings Expert"

I've had a look around at this and noted the following points:
1. Your ISP may object to you sharing your connection (though they're unlikely to find out...).
2. People you don't know can use your internet connection for anything including illegal purposes. The traffic will appear to have come from your address. Fon will however have a record of the username of anyone logging on and off your network at a given time so this might be less of a concern if push came to shove.
3. If your bandwidth is "capped" by your ISP (2Gb a month or whatever) then remember to use the router's ability to restrict bandwidth or other users could push you over the limit.
4. Your home address may appear pinpointed on Fon's "Google Earth" type map of hotspots. This might be an issue for you though in my case they'd have to go well out of their way and stand in my garden to have a hope of getting a signal.
5. You're obliged to keep it plugged in and available to other users 24/7 for a minimum of one year. Either that or you can give it away to someone else who will do the same and you can cancel your account.
Having said all that I've ordered one, so we'll see how it goes.Reading this signature is a waste of time0 -

Point 1: Are you going to tell them? Most homes have Wireless & WEP is easily hacked
Point 2: You can view who's using the connection on your own user zone & each & every user is registered with FON, so any wrong-doing is easily traceable
Point 3: You can restrict the amount of bandwidth your sharing in the user zone
Point 4: You can customize your address as '0 A Long Road' & place the marker where you like, if you have concerns over people sitting outside your house
Point 5: You do not have to have it switched on 24/7, As long as you register the Router with FON & plug it in once they'll never know whether its switch on or off0
