Costs of flights from Easter will be higher as the APD goes up in April, 10% on the duty, most will have factored the rise in their prices already.
  • thanks Duchy :)
I've used Expedia the last 3 times I've booked flights+hotels for various trips, without any problem. LV packages are coming up about the same price across Expedia, Ebookers, Opodo... so I thought I'd go with the one which offers the best Quidco cashback :) Ebookers is 6%, the others are 3% and 3.5% I think.

The one thing I'd check before you book is whether ebookers charge an admin fee. Like you I've got some great deals with expedia in the past but last time I used opodo as they had a slightly better price. However when it came to pay they charged ~£35 booking fee which all but wiped out the cashback I got through quidco!
If ebookers don't charge then that's a great deal for cashback. Expedia always separate the flights & hotels, I've never seen them offer a package cashback deal.

thanks for the heads up mysparrow... can't see any mention about admin fees (unless you alter your booking later on) ... any else had experience of ebooker admin fees when placing a flight+hotel booking?

hmm, flight prices with VA for September just seem to have dropped by £50pp over night - now 825pp for direct flights and 6 nights at Vdara (including cashback)

seems a very good deal now?!

Just booked flights with Virgin for october.
Have been to vegas 7 times now and this year we are taking our youngest daughter and her parter out there for her 21st.
We will be flying on her birthday and ive managed to wangle invites to the clubhouse at gatwick for us all.
Ended up paying £625 return with miles+money, a heck of a lot more than weve paid in the past.

    How did you do that?

Right I have finally narrowed my decision down to the Flamingo, now I'm wondering whether anyone knows which rooms have the views of the Bellagio Fountains. There are quite a few different room types to choose from and I don't want to get it wrong. Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks :)

I got the clubhouse invites as Virgin mucked us about on our last trip home and gave away our disabled seats. also got 10,000 miles each.

The fare was £625 each + 2000 flying club miles per person.

We had a "GO" room there a few years back and it looked towards the fountains.
Unless they sell a "fountain view" room you will have to wait to ask at checkin or you could email the hotel and put a request in.
If they dont have 1 available when you go to checkin ask if you can wait till one is available.

The best rooms are Go rooms.

The view ones are called GO luxury the non view or pool view are GO deluxe.

The same analagy applies to the FAB deluxe and luxury.

The best fountain views are in the corner facing south (looking over the top of Bills).

The ones that face the strip overlook Caesers Palace and AFAIK still have a great big advert across most of those windows which is horrible to look through

You could book a deluxe and hope for an upgrade, or book the luxury and the ask for the south facing room in the corner, on or around floor 18/20 is good
